My wife has been going to this place for the last year while redecorating our home. She wanted new things for the house and had plenty to get rid of in redecorating. The service and attitude of the owners and staff had always been a complaint of hers. Constantly coming home with a new story of how rude they were. Being they were the only consignment shop within 30 minutes of us she continued to go. Over that time, she's spent thousands in there and sold quite a bit of things through them. One day they told my wife that she needed to pick up a chandelier because someone bought it and couldn't hang it because it was missing parts. (Quite rudely I might add). I'm a general contractor and I'm the one that took the chandelier down, bagged the small parts, taped them to it and had her take it there. I know for a fact it will hang just fine. So of course I go pick it up, explain to them that it isn't missing any parts and got to see the attitude first hand. These ladies are downright, in your face rude. I took the chandelier home, checked all the parts and brought it back. I explained to them that there was nothing wrong with it and if they needed someone to show them how to hang a chandelier that I'd be happy to oblige. They then sold the chandelier to the same person for considerably less money without any notice to my wife. Yet another chandelier experience with them. We had a $300+ chandelier swapped out in the house, she took it to Consign On A Dime again. Same story, it's missing parts and we can't hang it. This time I'm getting pretty irritated. It sat there for a while until they called and notified us that we pick it up or it gets donated. So I tell them I'll be by to pick it up. Unfortunately, things got pretty busy with work and I didn't make it until 3 weeks later. Only to find that they had tossed it out. While I understand that they had called and told us to pick it up or it gets donated. But, I did say that we wanted it back. And at that point it is still my property. Without any follow up, they tossed it.
To summarize it, these people are rude, their service sucks, they're incompetence leads them to point the finger at their customers and I find them intolerable. There's a new consignment store in Huntersville near Target and I believe we'll be...
Read moreWe have purchased a few items from Consign On A Dime - Furniture Consignment Boutique a few times and all went well.
We decided to consign a piece of furniture after a most recent move. It was pretty simple and straightforward. The shop told us times that were ok for drop off. We had our movers take the piece to the shop after the move.
Consign on a Dime confirmed receipt of the item. They sent us a contract and we discussed pricing over the phone. Having used consignment stores before I made sure to call to make sure we did not miss a pick up date. They let us know when the date would be.
The item sold and we received an email a few days later saying that the item sold and a check would be at the front desk available for us to pick after xx date.
Overall I am VERY happy with the process and would absolutely recommend for both purchases and consigning.
I really like how active the store is on Instagram. You can easily view the walk through tours and they're super responsive on IG...
Read moreTook some furniture there to try and sell it, but sadly the world shutdown right after we took it there, and are just waiting for things to get better so we can see if it sells. Lots of foot traffic in the place when we were there.
An update to the above. Since Consign on a dime has reopened, all the furniture I took there has sold. The staff has been wonderful...
