1st time visitor yesterday. Very polite, friendly and clean atmosphere. Myself and daughter. She had a cheese and spinach calzone. I ordered the Brooklyn Botanical Garden Salad (which was fantastic), and a 16 inch pizza (plans to take home some to wife) . Both of us had water. Total bill $37.29. Requested receipt since $37 seemed higher than expected. Technically no receipt received, only a charge slip. It only showed total; not sure how total was calculated. I ordered no cheese, artichokes, tomatoes, mushrooms, black olives and spinach ( which I saw written down by the young lady at register). I'm guessing no credit for cheese removal, yet charged for all other items. As you can see from the picture, plenty of black olives & quite a bit of artichokes. (For some reason, unknown to me, no tomatoes.) However, the other ingredients and even the sause was sparing. Crust was fantastic, yet with scarce sause, a bit dry. Since my daughter has to go back to work within an hour, I said nothing at the restaurant. I honestly didn't see any exceptional reason to return to this restaurant in the future although we'll have lunch quite a few times together each month. Always looking for a pizzeria to patronize, (and don't mind driving 25-30 minutes to get there-we live in Charlotte); we've found several family owned in Concord that load them up for a better price. I will again say they were polite, friendly and very clean restaurant. For some reason the downloadable menu from website has pricing covered up. Hope this helps.

A mixed bag at this local Italian joint. The atmosphere is exactly what you'd expect - nothing fancy, but generally clean, though oddly several tables remained dirty from previous diners despite the restaurant being mostly empty (only about four tables occupied in the spacious dining area). Our group ordered various dishes with decidedly mixed results. The eggplant Parmesan earned positive remarks from one of our party, while the plain cheese pizza was well-executed and surprisingly stood out as the highlight of our meal. Unfortunately, the specialty "Nona's Pizza" was completely inedible with a thoroughly blackened, burnt bottom crust - a disappointing miss from a pizza-focused establishment. The appetizers were a similar contrast - cheese sticks were clearly just frozen items tossed in the fryer, but the garlic knots showed some real promise with their tasty flavor profile. Service was unremarkable, neither adding to nor detracting from the experience. While this visit revealed some significant inconsistencies in food preparation, there were enough bright spots to warrant giving them another chance in the future. With some attention to quality control, especially on their specialty pizzas, this place could become a solid neighborhood option. To those about to nosh, stick with the plain cheese pizza, and you shouldn’t have any issues!

Place was very clean, people were very nice. I wanted to really like it but for me it fell kinda short. I will return just to try the pizza. I felt bad since you pay first (I didn’t leave a tip since it’s just ordering at a register). But they bring the food to you, they clean up after you, they bring you refills. I had no cash to give so I ended up stiffing the wait staff. I got the sausage roll. It was kinda small but it was fairly inexpensive. At first sight it looked really good. I cut into it and cheese did NOT ooze out like my experience with Stromboli’s would. No problem maybe it’s in the middle. It was not. I included the second picture to show how little cheese was in there. The marinara, I did not like in combination with the Stromboli. It was like a tomato and onion soup. I’m not from NY, so maybe my taste of marinara if different. I will say I enjoyed the marinara by itself, but for some reason when I dipped my Stromboli in it, it did not leave a great impression. The bread on the Stromboli I had issues with as well. It was hard and crunchy. Even though it’s very thin I was expecting crispy versus hard, maybe I’m too picky. You can tell the Stromboli had been sitting out, it was not fresh. The guy in front of me got two slice special and their pizza looked very good. I will try that next time.

I like the pizza here, but unfortunately I had a terrible customer service experience today. I placed an order for pick up over the phone while referencing the online menu. I specifically asked to confirm the price of $17.50 & if there was an extra charge for getting a half & half pizza & I was told the price would be that of a “veggie pie” without an extra charge, but was never told a number amount. Since the price I was looking at was $17.50 I was surprised when I arrived & was charged $18.50. I told them about the price difference listed online, thinking they would like to know, & was met with resistance from 3 employees who all said I’d have to pay $18.50 since that was the price listed on their in store menu. While my pizza sat on the counter getting cold one employee went to the back to tell the manager who never even bothered to walk up front to talk to me. He would not honor the online pricing either. I was just shocked by how all 4 of them continued to insist I was wrong when they were looking at the proof on their phones & were willing to risk losing a customer over $1. I usually tip $1 on pick up orders anyway, but stuck to my guns about the pricing because I was just appalled at how they handled it with no care for the customer & refused to honor pricing listed in 2 spots online. If I was the owner I would have been thankful for being notified of the discrepancy so that I could change the online pricing to reflect the in store pricing & prevent the same thing from happening again. Given how I was treated today they must not need...
