Waterbean Coffee — Restaurant in Cornelius

This place was highly recommended by Chat gpt. He's never let me down before but. There's a first time for everything. We walked in and the guy at the counter just kind of stared at us, a little strange but okay. I tried looking at the menu board but he kept staring and it was making feel weird so I finally said, yeah so we're going to be a couple minutes, he said okay and turned away. I was going for a latte. They had no flavor listed, none, like nothing. There was a menu sitting on the counter so I glanced at it thinking maybe I could find something there but it was food. I finally called him back over & was like okay well I don't really see any flavor options, do you have anything sugar free or like what are the options for a latte. He went & looked, came back and told me the sf options but no other options. I'm like, well I didn't exactly spell it out that I wanted to know what flavors they had. I thought I was clear but wanted to give him the benefit of doubt especially since I hadn't had my morning coffee yet. So at this point I just really want coffee and I'm feeling rather awkward so I just ordered a basic SF vanilla latte w/oat milk & asked if I could get it extra hot, he said yes so I Sat down & waited. After a couple minutes he brings the coffee over and it's iced, both of them. (I ordered one for my husband as well) So my husband says, these are supposed to be hot & I said actually extra hot. He says ohhh. And he goes back and he asks his coworker if he can just heat them up. Like what, no?!🤦‍♀️ She says, no we'll remake them and I'm like thank God. He did look over at that time and said sorry. He was not rude or anything. Then a couple minutes ago by, she brings the drinks over & they're hot so I take them and we walked out. I take a drink on the way to the car & let me tell you it was the worst. Like really watery. A latte has espresso, this tastes like maybe a weak drip at best. I couldn't believe it. Then I start wondering if they even used Oatmilk or if I'm going to end up with an awful stomach ache, time will tell. My husband agreed so it wasn't just me lol Worst coffee ever, I told him now I know why the name is water bean coffee, it's completely watered down. I'm not sure how you mess up a simple oat milk sf vanilla latte but they nailed it. I try to support local places when traveling but next time I'm in this area I'll stick with starbucks. One of my favorites to spend a morning or afternoon working outside of the office. It is a good place to meet people but is not as intimate as a few other coffee shops in the area. If you are looking for big open space, then this is perfect.

They have fantastic coffee, espresso, tea selections. If you order an espresso drink, you can choose from 4 different espresso options. I love #4! The pour over coffee may be my favorite pure option. No cream or sugar needed with this process because the coffee is so great. I've also tried the chia tea and regular drip coffee which were both good but the other items I mentioned were my favorites. The lattes were super creamy and not too sweet. They even have almond milk.

They take bitcoin, if you like to pay that way. I haven't tried their sandwiches yet, but I did split my two waffle plate with a friend one time and they were great.

I door dash. So this is the first time I’ve been to this store for a pick up. As soon a si walk in the door the young behind the counter says”ugh do you a mask” before I could say anything. Then immediately says what ever dash ur here to get we don’t have we already told them that. Before I even said anything or what I was thee to pick up. Which I had to order being a red card order. So I walk outside grab my mask come back inside I make her look at the order she’s like oh we have that. It was a mocha. So I wait and get my order to deliver and she seemed alittle lost at that point prob embarrassed after being rude before I even said anything.
