my experience today -
I like extra boba. What can I say, I like to chew my drinks. I'm weird. But who cares right? Thats how I like it and I pay for the extras soooo... What would be the problem? Wellllll... I'll tell you the problem. Let me preface this by saying, I order a $7.50 boba drink here 5-7 days a week. No exaggeration. Today was the first time I've ever ordered from (or seen) the manager. He informed me that I cannot order my drink with more than 2 extra boba helpings. Because "there wouldnt be enough for everyone else." You read that right, that's what he said. I'm sorry...... Come again?? So let me get this straight... I'm here at your BOBA shop and I like your BOBA enough that I not only order it everyday, but pay extra for EXTRA BOBA. But I am no longer able to do that because those 2 extra scoops are going to render you BOBA - less for ummm.... OTHER paying customers??? I think at that point my articulate and logical response only threw him off further because he was only able to trip over words, act flustered and HAND ME BACK MY CASH AND TELL ME I CANT ORDER ANYTHING!!! Big mistake Mr. Manager. This is a day in age where a small business like you needs to compete with many other like businesses. With customers able to so easily share their negative experiences with thousands of people, you may want to pause next time before you lose AND offend a customer in front of a growing line of other customers, over 2 scoops of boba. Bad move.
Oh and did I mention... The best part... After I told him, politely perplexed, that I ordered my drink that way everyday at this location, he proceeded to ask me WHO had done that for me because he was going to FIRE THEM!!! So now you want me to get some sweet little girls fired because they did what the customer asked?? Charged me for it (no freebies or anything) You want to fire 3 employees over 2 scoops of BOBA??? Call me crazy, but they are the ones with the customer service know how! You sir, have NONE. I gave you plenty of opportunity to reconsider your poor managerial move as I repeated to you what you were actually telling me. I even told you I'd leave this review. But you proceeded to embarrass me and hand me back my cash, telling me to leave. Huge mistake. Foolish, rookie mistake.

Read morePrior to COVID, That Boba Place in Costa Mesa Harbor & Adams was always our go-to for Boba. The service now in my last visit was awful! I was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED! I absolutely understand that businesses are short staffed and that we are going through a pandemic… However, there’s always the option to be kind. The two employees there on Friday right around the time they opened (2:45ish) allowed me and my child to walk though the door, wait in line a good 5 minutes, then pointed out that we needed masks when it was our turn to order the drinks. I was totally distracted after a busy day and had no mask with me… I asked if they had a mask, but they RUDELY SAID NO AND THAT THEY COULDN’T TAKE OUR ORDER. After waiting there the whole 5/6 minutes in line… (If your business requires masks, maybe having some to offer to customers would be a great idea, which is what most customer-service oriented businesses are doing) Now, I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND! I really do. I was NOT trying to be “the difficult “ customer there… I was just frustrated at the rudeness of the employees…She told me I can “order online” and pick it up… (which would still require me to go get it inside) … but… ok. I had already promised my child a boba, so I went outside, followed their instructions, ordered online, paid my 3 drinks… it said 15 minutes; we waited… 15 minutes… then 20 minutes… I send my kid inside to ask if the drinks were ready, they still asked him “what name is the order under” he tells them, shows them my phone with confirmation text … they initially were giving him the wrong order with 2 drinks, he tells them that our order had 3 drinks; they correct it and give it to him; taking a total of about 28 minutes for the 3 drinks and realizing in the car that there was NO BOBA in them! Read moreFood is good. Service is terrible. I have been here multiple times and almost every time the employees have bad attitude. On top of that, their sense of urgency is not there. No matter how busy or slow they are, they do not seem to be moving very fast. They sit there leaning against the counter having personal conversations not acknowledging the customers in line. This last visit was by far the worst. I walked in with two other people, no one else in line, and we walked straight up to the counter. There were two girls standing at the register. We stood there for about 5 minutes and neither of them acknowledged us. They were talking about their own order they were going to place; about 5 minutes later they pull cash out of their bag and place their own order for food and drinks.
