I took my family there while visiting and the person in front was quite sharp and irritated with us right when we walked in. I had my toddler interested in the little bubble gum machine up front and trying to see if we could get some candy but the front desk woman said no since it wasn't working which was fine but then she told us to stop my daughter from touching or being near it all together so rudely. My daughter then was so excited to look around while we were signing in but I guess that irritated the women working as well. She told us to wait in quite a harsh tone so she could tell us how to get around since it was so "crowded" but literally we were the only ones in the building. It just seemed like she didn't want us there or she didn't like my daughter for no apparent reason. FYI my daughter has manners and she's sweet, everyone we've met has said so including random strangers. She would never just grab stuff and break things, she was just excited to see the items so that woman did not need to get snippy with us.

Read moreNo admittance fee/donation only! Outstanding place to visit. Friendly, informative volunteers. (Might become a volunteer here, myself!) Got to understand how Ebey Landing is so unique! A National Park and more. Agricultural history. Old family cemetery. We watched a film on the Ebey family and cemetery there and toured the first floor. More natural history is currently being worked on on the lower floor. Great small but interesting gift shop. I returned another Saturday to attend a Reed Basket Making Presentation, which was very informative! There was a fiber art exhibit in one room on the first floor. Very diverse and fascinatingly well done. Quite interesting and on a corner of the oceanfront Coupeville waterfront section that is near the long dock entrance, with other interesting shops, merchants and and spots to eat. Check on what days shops are open before visiting. Weekends are far busier so we do...
Read moreThis is a really fantastic small museum. Admission is by donation only - so definitely bring some cash for ease (although they have PayPal as well!). They have a lot of really interesting exhibits, but I would say the Native American one is the most impressive. Lots of fascinating artifacts and the connection to Whidbey/Coupeville is very enjoyable to learn about - especially the history of the Penn Cove Water Festival. As a local, I also love seeing all the history of Whidbey and the first settlers here. The staff member at the front desk was super friendly and helpful. They also have a small but mighty gift shop packed with lots of great items. We really enjoyed our time here and will surely...
