1UP Video Games — Local services in Covina

Only went for a short while but here’s my encounters.

1 - cartridge base games I’ve bought were brasso’d to high hell with residue and made cleaning a pain

2 - had to be very cautious of games I bought. Had to buy out of the owners stash because games for Nintendo 64 in the general case were reproduction or fakes for the major first part titles

3 - staff was hit or miss. Didn’t feel valued most times and anytime you looked at games in the case when they forgot to lock it would get mad and the store was to sanitary , I bought a game once that had dead roaches in the plastic protector bag for the nes game

4 - the nail in the coffin was I went in the other day because they had games in the owners case that were expensive but was going to buy because I needed them for my collection and was going to spend upward of a grand or more and then to be told sorry if you don’t have cash I can’t sell , sorry new policy by owner. So that miffed me to no avail and was the nail in doing business and to add they were smug about it . Plus it’s suspicious why you only sell certain thing for cash but everything is acceptable . But they shown they don’t need my business and won’t be conducting...

Would rate zero or half a star if I could. I brought in a very limited item from Kojima Prodcution’s Death Stranding and the guy at the store didn’t even bother to take a look at it. Meaning didn’t even take it out of the box. Besides the fact that I spent ten minutes inside the store waiting to be helped while a Nintendo switch laid freely on a glass counter for the taking among other stuff while the shop keeper was talking with some customer in their back room or storage. The prices are good but when it comes to customer service or trying to sell this place is a total joke. I’m never coming back and I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a regular thing for this shop to be robbed or stolen from because damn, keep an out out on the front dude. You had a switch laying on a counter right next to the front door. Screw this place. Your bosses should hire me because you suck at guarding the store. You spent ten minutes in the back of the room with some balding dude with a pink care bear bag instead of taking care of your front. I had to call you to help me because I was getting impatient...
