I started by looking at power recliners on the excellent R-T-G app then visited the Covington, La R-T-G store to check out the ones I liked best. This was the first time buying a power recliner and the sales person (Shaun S.) could not have been more helpful and knowledgeable. I decided that the Siera Madre dual power recliner in grey was best for me. The grey shown online appeared to be charcoal almost black, but in store it proved to be a deep earthy grey with greenish/brownish undertones that I really liked. The recliner is very comfortable and sits my 5'7" frame perfectly. I liked that the adjustable headrest is a completely seperate piece not sewn onto the rest of the back. I think that will prove beneficial over time in terms of wear and tear on the leather and seams. The controls mounted on the outside of the right arm are easy to use and the "home" button that returns the recliner to the completely upright position was a must-have feature. The recliner operates smoothly and quietly. The subtle off-tone stitching on the chair, including the sides, provides nice visual interest. The other big selling point for me was the elegant minimalist design of this recliner, including the swept back arms, that suits the smaller space and decor in my room. I am also able to place the chair close to the wall (about 4"-5"). I opted for the 3-year R-T-G Protection Plan that even covers accidental damage because I have never owned any leather upholstered or power furniture. My new recliner was delivered on time and the delivery crew was terrific. RTG even provides a day-of-delivery online tracking link that shrunk the original 4-hour delivery window down to 30 minutes. Thanks Room To Go Covington, La. for a great furniture shopping...
Read moreI recently visited Rooms To Go in Covington,La to purchase some furniture, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. Wendy, the sales associate, was patient as we took our time deciding on what we wanted. Once we made our choice, the paperwork process seemed straightforward. However, there was a $69.99 deco package included, which we were told was at no additional charge and would actually increase our purchase price if we chose to remove it. I enjoy getting a discount, so I didn’t think twice about it. We were also instructed to make a $100 down payment to secure the financing terms we wanted. This seemed normal, as it's part of the process.
However, when I got home and reviewed the details online, it became clear that the $100 I paid seemed to cover the cost of the $69.99 deco package. I don’t have a problem paying for something that offers value, but I do have a problem with being misled. My issue is with the lack of transparency. If I was actually paying for the deco package, I should have been told upfront. It's important for sales representatives to be honest with customers to maintain trust. Because of this experience, I am leaving a 1-star review for Wendy. Honesty is crucial, especially when representing a company.
On a positive note, I want to commend Cheyanne who answered the phone when I called with my concerns. She handled my frustration professionally, and for that, I give her 5 stars. If you're planning to make a purchase, I recommend asking more questions and ensuring clarity on all charges. Unfortunately, I did not find Wendy to be a reliable choice...
Read moreUPDATE: Unfortunately I have to update my 5 star review due to the delivery issues to 1 star. The fault completely lies on the customer service department. We paid the additional $190 for the enhanced delivery to have the couch set up and the trash hauled away (we live in the county and our garbage pickup will only pickup household garbage in bags) Instead of them taking the trash they used our personal trashcans (they put the trash at the back of the truck and then when I went inside put it in our cans. I guess they didn’t notice the cameras). I contacted customer service multiple times and was told my only options were they come back Wednesday (a week later) and pick up the trash (which would mean we have no trash cans for over a week for household garbage) or they could refund me $50 out of the $190 I paid. $50 did not even cover what I had to pay to have it hauled off. We won’t even discuss how rude the agents with customer service are. Sebastian literally told me they were too busy to respond quickly and it wasn’t a big deal. Almost 2 weeks later and we just not got notice that they were doing the $50 refund. Won’t bother wasting my time with RTG in the future and I pray I never have to file a warranty claim because I was dumb enough to purchase that package also thinking RTG was reputable.
Penny in sales was amazing to work with! She was patient with us while we picked out the perfect sectional...
