Texas Roadhouse — Restaurant in Covington

My boyfriend and I come here at least once a week or every two weeks and we always have such a nice time and are always taken care of. The manager is familiar with our faces and even the servers stop by to say hello and that it’s good to see us again. Sadly, last night was not the case. It was my birthday, we had waited the usual time for a busy night and were seated. Our server got our drink orders, asked if we wanted appetizers and I ordered a Caesar salad. We asked if we could place our order, I ordered a medium 6oz filet and my boyfriend always gets the medium well steak. The servers always ask if he wants it butterflied, but ours did not and it was butterflied anyways. Our server did not check on us not once, we wanted to order bar drinks but missed that opportunity. Told us that our food was ready on a tray but he was already carrying drinks out on a tray to a table so it would have to wait. I have been a server for years.. I am familiar with the steps of service and you don’t tell a table their food is sitting in a window so you can bring someone a cold coke. We then got our food and my supposed to be medium filet was medium rare closer to rare (I’ll post the picture) and his medium well steak was medium rare throughout parts of his butterflied 6oz filet. He gave my boyfriend loaded mashed potatoes, but he ordered regular ones and he went and got him back the regular mashed potatoes. We cut through our steaks and it was immediately noticeable, our server continued to check on the rest of his section but not on us… not even a “how did everything come out” We sat there eating our sides, waiting for our server to stop by and ask how our food is but 30 minutes went by and he still never bothered to check on us even though I have watched him stop at the tables behind us multiple times. We asked for someone to grab the manager, DiMitri, (sorry if I misspelled that) came to our table and we told him that our steaks weren’t cooked right, he offered to cook us each another one but we have been sitting there for so long we were just ready to go. We told him we’d pay for our sides and soft drinks, but if he could just take the steak off that would be appreciated. He apologized multiple times and took care of our bill and we paid for our soft drinks. Our server still did not come check on us even after seeing the manager speak with us. Our server stopped by several minutes later and just said “do you want a box?” We said no and he was asking us if we were sure and we said yes our steaks weren’t cooked correctly and he said why did we not tell him, I told him that he had not checked on us since our food had gotten here so how were we supposed to tell him. He claimed he dropped our mashed potatoes off that we should have told him, but that was before we had even cut into our steaks. He caught an attitude and asked me if I’d like to speak to a manager but I had told him we already had. He was extremely rude and not once did he acknowledge my boyfriend who was sitting directly across from me… very weird. Also, a friend of mine happened to be at the restaurant at the same time and she asked her server to tell our server it was my birthday and my server apparently responded that we were probably lying. Worst birthday dinner experience I’ve ever had. I hate to leave bad reviews and I always make the best of my situation, but our server completely ruined our night. Especially after already waiting over an hour somewhere else, we were just hoping for some good food at our regular spot. My husband and I came here to eat with friends on a Saturday night, we knew it was going to be a wait. We finally got setted 1 hours and 10 minutes later. the waiter (Jawan) came by 10 minutes later and go the drink and appetizer order. We finally got the drinks 15 minutes later and the appetizer came out at the same time. My husband's friend asked for a refill on his drink at this time, and the waiter took the orders. 30 minutes later I was done with my drink and the waiter (Jawan), came back by and asked if I need a refill. I said yes and he needs his drink refilled too. 5 minutes later we got the drinks refilled ( I had sweet tea and my husband's friend had Dr. Pepper) so it wasn't like it a mixed drink. The food finally came and the waiter (Jawan) messed up the order. My husband's friend and his wife order a hand cut sirloin, fries and green beans, wife order a 23oz porterhouse with mashed potatoes, sweet potato just butter and cinnamon on it. My husband order a 23oz porterhouse with corn, sweet potato with just butter and cinnamon on it. I ordered a 16oz ribeye with Cesar salad, and a loaded baked potato. But l, that is not what the waiter order(Jawan) My husband's friends wife got the bone in ribeye with mashed potatoes and sweet potato with butter, cinnamon and (marshmallow). My husband got bone in ribeye with sweet potato and corn. My husband does not eat a fatty steak, he usually get a ny york but, he wanted to try porterhouse. The waiter that came out with the food was not (Jawan) so she had to go find him. He came to the table and said I guess I put the order in wrong. He did ask him it was OK or did he want us to fix it. My husband's friends wife said no she would eat it. But by that time my husband was done. So, (Jawan) said I will leave this steak and have them make you one. My husband said whatever. Jawan came back and told him he will bit the steak that was wrong in a box for him and bring it back. It never came back, Jawan had the right steak in the box. Jawan never had a manger come by. He did change my husband's friend the right price but after everything that went on you would think something else would have been done. Jawan charged us for the porterhouse, my steak, 2 beers and a sweet tea with appetizer. The bill was 101.16. We have eat there many times, but we will...

Don’t waste your time or money at this restaurant. There’s a reason they don’t have high reviews. If I could do negative stars I would. Management they have now is absolutely terrible. Used to always love going here food and service used to be excellent not anymore, but after this evening never again. I wanted a good steak we drove a 2 hour round trip to come here get steak of which waitress was horrendous. She got everything wrong about our order. Once we spoke to a manager about it either manager didn’t care and never told the waitress of her mistakes or the waitress just doesn’t care bc never once apologized to us. She got our drink order brought drinks then took our food order and she disappeared. After 45 minutes waiting I had to ask someone else about our appetizers of which we had to say what ordered and that person didn’t even bring correct appetizer. And had to eat salad with hands bc THEY WERE OUT OF SILVERWARE!!! What restaurant runs out of silverware?!?!!!! Then when we finally get our food. My steak was so undercooked I couldn’t even eat it, was not brought out the gravy I ordered , And other entree we ordered no mushrooms and no sour cream of which when brought to us was loaded with mushrooms and sour cream brought. The waitress did absolutely nothing correct. She never even came to check on us. Neither of us could eat our food so did nothing but waste time. Next time will drive 2 hour round trip to Baton Rouge instead of Covington. Covington one has gone downhill with management they have now. Neither management or waitress acted like wanted to be there and obviously cared nothing about customers. Worst experience ever at this resturant. If this would’ve been our first time would’ve never eaten at another. But since we’ve been loyal customers for years we know this isn’t how it’s suppose to be ran. But we will never go to Covington resturant again unless management is changed. Ended up having to comeback home to cook ourselves dinner bc was so frustrated didn’t feel like going...
