Cranberry Dental Studio — Local services in Cranberry Township

I initially liked my experience here even though I knew I was overpaying . I do have dental insurance, but their exams were 3 times the cost that an insurance company would pay. So I went elsewhere for cleanings.

The injectable novocaine delivery is not painless I’ll say that , it’s all hype. MAYBE THEY can charge more for it I just don’t know

I was referred to a specialist who performed root canals. I guess it was a friend of the dentists. Anyway he was rough and impatient. I wish I had gone to my old endodonist and not trusted his referral.

So I had a crown redone and the dentist got it back from the lab and put it on but never showed me while I was in the chair. I got home and realized that it didn’t match anything in my mouth. I’m a senior citizen and fillings and crowns that are 25 years old match.

So I called and had to go through the process all over again , NOVACAINE INJECTION, grinding the crown down to remove it , impressions, gluing on the temporary and waiting for the new one. The dentist knew the crown didn’t match. It was visible to him when he put it on . Plus he didn’t show me in the mirror the final result. I think he wanted to hide this from me thinking I’d never look when I got home. I spent around 1,600 on it too. For steeply priced dental care you expect near perfection.

Ok I was still relatively ok with putting myself in their hands even with an history of issues until a 3 year old crown cracked that they placed in. I was not happy because I had gotten a root canal on that tooth earlier and between the endodontist I didn’t like and this cracked crown I was out thousands of dollars mostly out of pocket. Interestingly, I was given a consent form which I felt was to trick me because no mention of cost was given. The dentist Brian then started the procedure but I asked if this was going to cost me anything. Then he said he’d get a treatment plan.

HE AVOIDED BRINGING UP COSTS KNOWING I HAD PREVIOUSLY SIGNED THE CONSENT FORM. HE WAS TRYING TO TRAP ME !

SO, a couple of minutes later a woman came in with a “treatment plan “ charging me over $1,400 for a replacement crown done 3 years ago. She said they only guarantee them for 2 years but she claimed that it reflected a 20% discount . They should tell their clientele this at the beginning and certainly before attempting to replace a crown that was very recent

Of all the times I had been here I was always presented with costs, until this time.

So I left. It was obvious that their reputation and skill weren’t as important as the dollar was to them ! I can get a crown elsewhere for less without deception.

Another thing I want to bring up is their reviews which are not a true representation of the facility. I get that they are concerned about image but truth and transparency trump everything

Don’t believe the all 5* posts . These type of facilities want you to believe in them so they conceal or hide and remove realistic reviews that make them uncomfortable . Notice how many reviewers have given so few reviews . That’s a red flag !

Getting older isn’t for Sissies. I broke another molar and I got it taken care of today. When I called Janice the other morning, she was very kind and made sure I was ok and could wait a couple of days for my appointment. I was so pleased that I could see the Doctor quickly.

Some of the names have changed, but most of my story below still applies. One of the stars of today’s event was Destinie . What a nice young lady who makes you feel so welcome and comfortable. She is so knowledgeable and keeps you informed as you are waiting for the next step.

Dr. Rob is such a good Dentist. Sure hands and a great personality. I really feel Dr. Rob takes his time and makes sure everything is right. No doubt he has done this procedure lots of times, but he explains what he is doing as he goes along.

I broke part of a molar last week and it was causing me some pain. I was able to get an appointment with Cranberry Dental Studio for first thing Monday morning. I appreciated that they were able to fit me in since I know they are very busy.

Karen greeted me by name when I arrived and before I could even hang up my coat, Amanda came out to greet me and she even hung up my coat!

I need to mention that their new office is the most beautiful dental office I’ve ever seen. They have a fireplace that was on making the place warm and cozy. I’ve stayed in fancy hotels that are not near this nice!

Amanda took a look at my issue and a quick X-ray to show the Doctors. Within minutes Dr. Brian came in and we had a nice chit-chat, including important advice on how to order pizza at Police Station Pizza in Ambridge.

Dr. Brian had a complete plan to correct my issue and we started with a cleaning by Donna. Donna is so friendly, and even though I have not seen her for a while, we picked up right where we left off. She did a great job and even gave me a moist warm towel at the end to freshen up. Nice touch!

After the cleaning, I went back with Amanda and she got me ready for Dr. Rob to begin the repair process. I appreciated how Amanda took her time to explain each step to me and make sure I was comfortable.

Dr. Rob started the repair process with firm sure hands. No doubt he has done this countless times. He is exactly what you want in a Dentist with up to date knowledge and skills, along with the latest materials and instruments.

At the end Dr. Brian came back in and we had a nice chit-chat again to make sure I was doing well.

I finished up and went back to the front desk to pay and schedule my next appointment. Katie gave me a big friendly smile and helped me with the checkout process.
