What an incredible evening. First let me start of by saying how grateful I am for having such amazing friends and people around me and for the experiences I get to enjoy with them.
This evening we had the pleasure of going to Mr. Mister Supper Club in Cranberry, a new concept by Jimmy Wan headed by Chef Anthony Pupo from Albero Verde. Not only did I get to enjoy this evening with the company of two lovely women, but we got to meet the chef and enjoy a few things compliments of the chef.
Starting off we had Honeymoon Oysters (I did not partake as I have a texture thing) was not Clare’s thing but Ashley did enjoy them! The Orange Hamachi Crudo with the pickled Fresno chili was incredible, it had such a strong emphasis on the citrus flavors and the hamachi was just amazing. The Brie and goat cheese pierogis were a star, the goat cheese was not over powering at all, it added a nice freshness and the caramelized onions really tied it together. The French onion soup dumplings were tasty as well, though admittedly might prefer just some French onion soup. We also had the prime filet tartare, Clare and I had never tried tartare before, but we both enjoyed it, Clare in fact loved it and it was one of her top dishes of the night.
On to the entrees - the 8oz prime filet was cooked perfectly and seasoned well, it was definitely a fantastic center cut filet, and was extremely tender. The spicy vodka chicken parm was delicious, it had a fantastic breading and the spicy vodka was really flavorful and actually spicy so that’s a big plus for me. The cacio e Pepe was ok, the pasta was definitely great and fresh, but just not our thing. The burger with the Brie and bacon on it was super delicious, I definitely would like more of that, thick, juicy, cooked perfectly, the bacon added a nice smokiness and the Brie added a nice creamy cheese texture with some crunch from the arugula. The duck fat confit steak frites were crispy and so flavorful, perfectly seasoned with some nice salt.
For only being opened since Tuesday they are really knocking it out of the park. The vibe was incredible, the food matched the vibe, and I really was transported to somewhere that felt like it should be downtown. This is definitely a breath of fresh air for Cranberry and the north hills. Looking forward to...
Read moreMr. Mister From the moment you approach the mysterious black exterior of Mr. Mister, you know you’re about to experience something special. Stepping inside reveals a beautifully designed modern and elegant space that perfectly balances sophistication with warmth. The atmosphere alone sets the stage for an unforgettable evening — and the food delivers on every level. We started with the Brie + Goat Cheese Pierogies, homemade from grandma’s recipe. The combination of drawn butter and caramelized onions brought out a rich, comforting depth of flavor — a perfect blend of nostalgia and refinement. Next came The Wedge salad, and it was a true flavor explosion. The combination of candied bacon, a perfectly cooked scotch egg, creamy blue cheese dressing, berry compote, and candied walnuts was both creative and delicious — a refreshing twist on a classic. For our entrées, we tried the Branzino, stuffed with lemon and herbs and served alongside heirloom carrots, broccolini, and a light truffle vinaigrette. The flavors were bright, fresh, and beautifully balanced. We also had the Spicy Chicken Parmesan, featuring mozzarella, sharp provolone, Parmigiano Reggiano, Calabrian chili, and a spicy vodka sauce. It was bold, perfectly crispy, and easily the best Chicken Parm I’ve ever had — spicy in just the right way. Congratulations to the team at Mr. Mister on a fantastic opening. You’ve added a truly exceptional fine dining experience to Cranberry, and we can’t wait...
