We held our wedding reception at the Pittsburgh Marriott North in June 2025 and had the most spectacular experience! If you are looking for a classy, organized, accommodating, and all-inclusive venue in the greater Pittsburgh area, I would not hesitate to work with the Marriott team! We first toured the venue in the summer of 2023 with Jen. Our meeting was the most thorough of any venue we toured. She went over the floor plan of the hotel and the package options in detail. I came prepared with many questions, but Jen answered nearly all of them during her review of the wedding materials. Afterwards, she gave us a tour of the venue and described the options we had for the physical space. I initially thought I would be a bride who wanted to pick every detail and specific vendor myself, but the Marriott offerings were hard to beat. Not only did we have the physical space, but your room block, bar and catering, linens, tableware, etc. are all included. We were also connected with a bakery for our cake and florist for our centerpieces as part of our package. Additionally, they were able to provide other reputable vendor recommendations upon request. After booking, we were connected with Michaella who was absolutely fantastic. She was so quick to respond to every email and never made us feel like we were asking too many questions. Michaella had a deep commitment to making our wedding day exactly as we envisioned. I am not kidding when I say EVERY request we made was granted - the fold of the napkins, layout of the room, meal choices, timeline of events, etc. You name it, this team made it come to life. Not only that, but Michaella was so kind and warm. After our menu tasting, all parents remarked how she was so organized, communicative, and reliable. During the wedding weekend, I had no concerns at all regarding our venue. The guest rooms were spacious and clean, the conference room for getting ready was massive, and the Marriott staff was quick to help with any need. Our day-of banquet leads, Kaylyn and Lexie, were fantastic! They were so sweet, accommodating, and were genuinely excited to make our day special. When they took us to see the ballroom, I was completely stunned and immediately started crying. They made the space even more beautiful than I could have imagined. Our guests continue to tell us it was one of the best wedding experiences they have had, noting the efficiency of the bar tenders, friendliness of the wait staff, and quality of the food and beverages served. Please do yourself a favor and book this venue if you are looking for a stress-free, high quality experience! 📸: All photos courtesy of Kaitlyn Logan Photography.

Everything looks newly renovated. Huge lobby area and decent sized restaurant. The rooms are wonderful, very spacious and clean. Staff was great, very friendly. Good location, plenty of places to eat nearby and there is also a nice walking trail in a nearby park. The only main negative is they have very limited hours for food and coffee. By noon on Sunday everything was shut down, and when I arrived Thursday morning I don't think the Starbucks drand was open. They do sell snacks in their gift shop area and the rooms do have coffee makers but that's the one thing in the room that feels outdated. Another negative is they charge for WiFi. Update: The maintenance staff are outstanding! I have never been at a hotel event where the public bathrooms were cleaned multiple times each day. Not only that, but the workers always had smiles.

Arrived at 10 PM for check in having booked the day prior only to learn that there would be no water available from 11 PM until 5 AM the next day. There was no effort to make this situation "right", because after all, there was a sign on the front desk and that makes it okay. The water was not available until 7 AM the next morning, 2 hours late. This information should have been available when I booked the day before so I could plan accordingly and the staff was absolutely oblivious that someone staying at a "high end" hotel should expect running water be part of that experience. Have been a happy Marriott customer for years but I will reconsider future bookings there after this experience.

Conference Stay – Disappointed by Management, Not the Staff

We recently stayed here for a statewide conference. At first glance, the hotel looks great. The rooms are attractive, and the shared spaces are clean and inviting. Also, I want to make it clear that the staff was excellent. Everyone I interacted with was friendly, helpful, and doing their best under pressure. The real problem was not the people on the ground. It was the lack of support, planning, and oversight from management. That part really showed.

Here’s what stood out.

The Good: • The hotel itself is well-decorated and well-maintained. • Food from the hotel kitchen, outside of the conference meals, was tasty and fresh. • Staff were kind and professional throughout the stay, even when clearly stretched too thin.

The Not-So-Good: • The hotel was not equipped to handle a large conference. We waited 30 to 60 minutes just to be seated for breakfast, even when tables were clearly open. Dinner service was slow and chaotic. • The food provided by the conference caterer was not great. The ladies’ lunch was disappointing, the dinner was mediocre, and regular coffee ran out early. Only decaf was left. • Food and bar service ended at 11 p.m., leaving no options for guests coming back from evening events or traveling in late. • We used the Marriott app to request towels and a comb. Nothing ever arrived. No follow-up either. • Housekeeping never showed up. No one called, no explanation was given. • There was a dusty, dirt-filled air vent at eye level in the shower. It had clearly been ignored for a while. A vacuum and quick wipe could have fixed it. The fact that it hadn’t been touched said a lot. • The HVAC system was erratic. Some guests in our group were freezing, others couldn’t cool their rooms down. In my room, it would run briefly, then shut off. I kept waking up uncomfortable.

Final Thoughts: We travel often and stay in a wide range of hotels. I understand when things go a little sideways at a value hotel or limited-service property. But this is supposed to be a full-service Marriott. That name comes with higher expectations. Unfortunately, this location did not live up to them.

To be clear, the staff on site were doing everything they could. The fault lies with Marriott management for not giving them the resources they need. This property is not ready to host conferences, and we would not return unless significant...

Just got back from my trip to Pittsburgh - my family ( 2 toddlers and husband) stayed at the Marriott. We booked the 1 king bed room which was tidy and sufficient space for us. Our booking included the M Club Lounge access As my husband is a platinum American express holder. The reason we booked with Mariott was so that we could have access to the M lounge- for easy access to food for beverages for the kids. We arrived at the hotel for check in 2pm and inquired on where the mclub was located - front desk advised us that MClub is closed on the weekends which was something that was not communicated to us in advance. However we got in at 2pm Friday there is no reason the club should have been closed on the Friday (not a weekend). We were highly disappointed and would not have booked this hotel knowing we wouldn’t have access to the M club.

Saturday my family and I went out at 9am for breakfast and didn’t come back to the room until 2pm. We expected the room to be cleaned upon our arrival. The room was messy as we left it - no clean towels. I attempted to call front desk called the front desk for 30 minutes straight and no one answered. I then walked to the front desk to see what was going on / they advised that they were busy at the moment / I told her I was calling for someone to come clean and provide clean towels and that no one’s answering - she said she would send up clean towels and the cleaner would come before 7pm that day - they have no set time that they would be there.

I went back to my room awaiting the clean towels another 30 minutes and it didn’t come I called back the front desk and she said that she will send it up - my husband then tracked a worker in the hallways and was able to retrieve the towels.

We wasted so much time of our vacation in the room awaiting clean towels to get the kids ready. As we were getting the kids and ourselves ready around 5pm for dinner we received a knock at the door - it was the cleaner. I told him we were getting the kids ready and asked if he can come back in an hour. He advised he is done his shift soon so he will clean it now or not at all. We had no choice but to hurry the kids and get ready and leave the room.

This was not a vacation - going to a hotel should be very laid back and basic necessities of a clean room and towels should be ready available. This hotel lacks customer satisfaction and service. We will never be...
