We just moved here and enjoy this restaurant. One thing you all are missing that they have in the south is Salsa Blanca which is served with chips. It’s really popular and brings in a lot of business. Please incorporate this here! It will be a hit and drive business I’m sure of it!
Mexican Restaurant-Style White Sauce (“Salsa Blanca”)
Ingredients: • 1 cup mayonnaise • ½ cup whole milk • 1 tablespoon finely grated onion (or very finely minced) • ½ teaspoon dried thyme (or 1 tsp fresh, finely minced) • 1 tablespoon finely diced red bell pepper • ½ teaspoon tiny chilis, minced (use less or more depending on heat level; e.g., chile pequín or Thai bird chilies) • ¼ teaspoon turmeric (for color and earthiness) • ½ teaspoon sugar • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes • 1–2 tablespoons water (to thin, adjust as needed) • Salt to taste
⸻
Instructions: Prep the vegetables: Grate or finely mince the onion and red pepper. Mince the chilis as finely as possible. Mix the base: In a medium bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, milk, and water until smooth and slightly runny. Add the flavor: Stir in the onion, red pepper, thyme, chilis, turmeric, sugar, and pepper flakes. Season and chill: Add salt to taste (start with ⅛ tsp and adjust). Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving. This allows the flavors to meld. Serve: Use as a dipping sauce for chips, over tacos, or drizzled on fajitas or burritos.
⸻
Tips: • This sauce gets better after sitting overnight in the fridge. • Some restaurants blend the sauce to make it ultra-smooth—feel free to blend if you want that silky texture. • You can add a splash of vinegar or lime juice if you want a tangier version.
Let me know if you want a non-dairy or...
Read moreTried the new Patron restaurant in Cranberry last night. It was our chance to get the wife, daughter, and I all together for our daugther's birthday. Was eager to try it, always thoroughly enjoyed the Wexford location. This one fell way short of falling short even. Food was terrible. Nacho appetizer was soggy, meat was super greasy, terribly unappealing look to the entire plate, and taste was lousy. Sent it back. Daughter got some sort of enchiladas, she ate a few bites, and I could tell she disliked it. She said it tasted quite wrong. Wife's street tacos were sub-par at best, she did not finish even one of them. Taco Bell makes better tacos, and that's no saying much. My gorditias we lousy. Shells we're bland, meat was dry, bland, and oddly flavored. The rice was aweful, just aweful. Dry, and tasted stale, or like it was stored in cardboard, just odd. Sent entire meal back, horrible. We love Mexican cuisine. Emilianos is our top choice, and will continue to be, used to love the little hole in the wall that was El Toro in Zelienople, and even like Compadres in Butler. This meal was something really bad though. Within half an hour of our visit, I had to be ill in a public restroom, which is a whole other kind of special. Later that night, I had quite the bout of gastric distress to put it nicely, and my daughter was ill twice, so happy birthday to her. Still both feel ill today. Patrons comped the meal, and gave us a gift card for the Wexford location, but doubt we will use it. Manager was very kind and...
Read moreI ordered the Mexican street tacos with pork pineapple beans rice a spicy tomatillo sauce and cilantro. The spicy sauce was basically inedible, almost like oil with ghost pepper extract, no flavor just heat that numbs your lips. The tacos were more raw onion and cilantro than taco. When I took 1 bite, all I could taste was dry meat, onion, and cilantro. Cilantro was so much that it stuck to my teeth after the first bite. We explained to both the waitress and the manager that I disliked my meal, and would just like it returned (came with 2 other people for a $60 check) they then told us since we ate some of it, we had to pay for it. Ladies and gentlemen when I tell you I had one bite. I mean I took 1 bite total and felt sick so I couldn't eat anymore. After much complaining and explaining of the situation, they finally agreed to reimburse my meal. They still made me pay for the rice and beans (since that's all I was able to eat). I could understand if I ate 2 out of my 3 tacos, but since I only took 1 bite, there shouldn't have been an issue. Please fix the customer service here, as well as the portion sizes for the ingredients used. My family may have enjoyed they're meals, however because of the refund situation that we found unfair, we will not be returning in the future. (If I was thinking at the time, I would've taken a picture for proof, but I do not leave reviews for restaurants unless I feel like I have been...
