JUNKDFW — Local services in Crandall

I was calling all over the place, including the big named businesses, and local municipalities, trying to find a place I could just drop off several 4ft fluorescent lights, some broken, so they could be responsibly disposed of. I talked to several very nice people, but was getting nowhere. Just as I was about to just give up, I saw JUNKDFW which was local to the Forney area, and called and spoke with Mike who answered right away. He said he could come pick the fluorescent lights up the very next day whatever time was good for me. He came promptly at the agreed upon time. I was so excited when he got there, seeing he had a truck with the long dumpster-type bin for hauling attached to the back (sorry I don’t know what it’s called), that I asked if he could take some other stuff that I didn’t know how to dispose of, like paint cans for example (that we are not allowed to put in the trash), and tubes of other material. He took that too and the price was reasonable to me for the hassle it would have taken me to figure it out. Mike was prompt, very professional, quite pleasant, and worked quickly. He assured me everything would get recycled appropriately. That eased my mind so much. I wish I had been better prepared by having everything I was even considering to get rid of gathered all in one place because after he left, we thought of other things I’m sure he would have taken care of. I will definitely use his services again. I appreciate his service very much!...

We were flying into Dallas to do a down and dirty full move-out. Various contractors were contacted ahead of time to ensure a timely finish to various repairs. We buckled down and started clearing the junk and trash from the home – on that first day anyone scheduled either re-scheduled or no showed, however, Michael of JunkDFW, called to confirm our scheduled appointment for the next day!! Sure enough he and his son Chase showed up right on time and without blinking started loading from the pile we had created in the driveway. They worked so like a well oiled machine. Chase never stopped moving and Michael only paused to survey and suggest what else they could add to the load. While we continued to add to the pile, he took the first load and quoted for another. After the second load he saw that we would clearly need at least one additional pickup which he quoted and scheduled two days later. Again they were on time and QUICK! Michael could tell that we would likely have more to dump after our final day at the property and offered a good rate to stop back by, after we had flown out, to pick up anything we had left for him. Did I mention that Michael and Chase were just down home, good people. Throughout the process, with deadlines looming, other contractors had to be chased down but NOT them. Such a stress relief ! It was like having a good friend and the rates...

I had a single item, an big ole heavy couch, I needed to get rid of. Called a couple places found in Google search. $200 quoted one place. $150 the other. Dang. Did the Angie’s thing where I filled out what I needed. Calls poured in. Most didn’t read my detail so they weren’t interested in picking up a single item. They wanted a full days work and a large chunk of change. One said they do it for 120 bucks but would be a week before they could come out. I figured I’d rent a trailer from Home Depot and haul it myself. But where? Geez. I remembered seeing mention of a hall off place on the Nextdoor App. Found the entry for Mike at JUNKDFW. Called on Friday. He said he could do it that day for a fraction of what everybody else was charging. I want home so asked if he could do Saturday. Absolutely he said. Gave me a 1 hour window timeline. Showed up right on time the next morning. Nice guy. Hard worker. Friendly but professional. They had it moved and in their truck in 5 minutes. How do you not tip a guy for that? Great job. Kept his card. Now in my phone contacts. Bottom line, start with Mike if you need something moved out. One item or a house full, get his price. Call others too if you want to get “competitive” estimates. But you don’t need to. I had to write this review. He took care of my situation fast, friendly, and at the best price I could...
