Whoever thought the Okaloosa County Tax Collector’s Office needed to feel like a bad infomercial clearly missed the point of what a government service is supposed to be. While the clerk who assisted us was courteous and helpful (the one bright spot), everything else about the experience was a loud, poorly planned mess.
The so-called “informational” commercials blaring nonstop were obnoxious and completely unnecessary—louder than a rock concert, and definitely louder than the announcements for who’s next in line, which were practically whispered like a secret you weren’t meant to hear. Read moreTypically outstanding service but the last time I went Mr. David Miles gave me a hard time about dismissal of a registration ticket. I left the building and returned shortly to witness him make slick remarks and be surprisingly passive aggressive to a man that was trying to figure out the process to visit his children. Employees aren’t allowed to recommend legal advice, however, the moment the man told David why he was there an employee down a cubicle let out an audible chuckle mocking the man. Immediately afterwards, David proved repeatedly that he’s unfit to deal with certain customer service scenarios. Hopefully you see this and consider it...
