Was wanting sushi but didn't feel like going all the way to sams club where my favorite sushi for the best price is. I've been to bamboo and their good hut really expensive and small portions so I decided to try this place. The food was made fast and they got the order right. The price was better than bamboos but the taste was not the greatest. I had better hopes for the high rating. They have a lot of interesting sounding options but it just didn't have the wow factor I had hoped for. I was pretty happy to see they had bubble tea available. That's one of my top favorite drinks. Bubble tea, coffee, and Coke coffee. The green tea and taro qere the flavors I got. The taro was better than the green tea. The green tea was a bit weaker in flavor than I'd have liked. One issue with the drinks was the drink was really full which is good but the straw had a hard time going into the straw hole and when I'd try and poke it in the drink would seep out the hole on top of the drink making a big mess. A different lid would be a great idea I think. But food wise we got two Dynamite rolls, a Volcano roll, a crestview roll, and a spicy crab roll with 2 steak hibachi with veggies, rice, and miso soup lunch specials. The steak was tender but needed to marinate more to get a better flavor. The rice was good. A good fried rice is thw foundation of an Asian meal. An issue we had was that they didn't mark which sushi roll was what and I accidentally ate my husband's and my Dynamite roll. The crestview roll was the best roll out of the rolls though. But the floor inside wasn't the cleanest. I kinda expected that though cause the area of town is old and not as new as other locations so I won't hold that against them. But for speed of order making, taste, presentation and packaging for a to go order with no markings, and cost I'll have to go 3. The flavor of the food, the leaking of the drinks cause bad cup lid choice and lack of marking on packages for new customers not knowing what is what dropped it down from a 5 to 2. The cost and speed of readiness brought it back to a solid 3. I'd not see myself back any time soon though for food, probably return for some bubble...
Read moreI finally went to eat here after months of intention, unfortunately, I was pressed for time and had to order take out instead. It took OVER AN HOUR for my order for 4 to get made. I ordered at 5 pm and there were 3 tables occupied, one server and 2 guys in the kitchen. We walked in and ordered. The server had an issue with us using 2 different cards for a split payment. She kept disappearing, supposedly helping customers as we sat there waiting. Then 45 minutes came and went and more people came in during that time including take out orders who came after us and left before us. We finally received our sushi order of small rolls (2 sets of rolls were so tiny compared to the container, a third one would've for easily) but not our drinks? One bottled water, 1 fountain drink, 2 boba teas? Really?! So another 20 minutes and we are finally leaving the establishment and all this time we could've dined in and maybe had better service. My kids were thirsty and starving, it would've been a better experience going somewhere else....
Read moreMy friends and I used to frequent this place when it was Sapporo and loved the food. We were the regulars and John treated us like family. When he closed down, we were sad that we had lost "our" sushi home.
This was all remedied when we met Kiki and the fine sushi chef and crew at You Sushi. From the start they welcomed us in and asked what we liked and try different things. We were made to feel as if Sapporo never closed. But You is making a mark of their own.
They make wonderful food and I would definitely recommend people that are on the fence to give it a try.
I highly suggest their lunch menu. It is affordable and they give you plenty of food. If you want some great rolls, go for the VIP, Dragon, Destin, Samurai, and the California roll.
They are super friendly and are wanting to provide the best sushi in town. I've been there 4 times since they first opened and I have to say, you'd be hard-pressed to find better sushi and better people. I am and will continue to be a regular at You Sushi...
