Casbah Coffee Co. Has easily become a part of my husband and I's newly established weekend ritual.
Being from Australia, (and very new to the US), the coffee industry, inclusive of cafes and coffee houses, are a massive part of our cultural identity, and Casbah Coffee Co. has provided me with the closest familiar experience to that whilst on US soil yet.
Casbah Coffee Co. boasts high quality coffees and brews, as well as delectable cafe-style food options, offering both in-store baked goodies ready to go from their glass display cabinets (such as scrolls, scones, croissants, cookies, etc), and freshly prepared 'per order' foods from their kitchen (such as sandwiches and soups). They also have a chilled drinks fridge for anybody wanting a bottle beverage, such as water, juice or soda, and further still, they also offer seasonal rotations to their menu which are always fun to explore!
The staff and service quality is impeccable, maintaining both a professional, high-quality yet friendly and welcoming demeanour, and atmosphere overall. Speaking of atmosphere, Casbah Coffee Co. offers both inside and outside seated dining options, with the outside being in an enclosed courtyard area to the rear of the business. Casbah has perfected the art of curating a comfortable, yet clean and refined, vibe, through not only the staff attitudes, but the choice of furniture and seating arrangements. Specifically, the interior seating options range from plush leather couches with low coffee tables, high-top bench and table seating, as well as traditional booths and chairs, with a comfortable balance of warm artificial and natural lighting. Externally, seating options include 'traditional' metal patio-style tables, with cute, almost cobbled, brick flooring, a small in-ground garden, and string party lighting overhead. It just all feels so incredibly homey.
As for other finer details, it is worth noting that Casbah Coffee Co. also offers: Free Wi-Fi Free surrounding on-street parking Patron restrooms Highchairs, on request
To summarize, whilst I know a big part of moving to a new country is exploring and embracing all of the new and unique cultural experiences it has to offer, I must admit that it is incredibly pleasant having somewhere like Casbah. Coffee Co. to provide me with a small slice of 'home'. I truly believe, however, that no matter where you are from, Casbah Coffee Co. can comfortably offer you a slice of feeling welcomed and...
Read moreI will start by saying that I have been to Casbah numerous times and had nothing but good things to say. However, this week I went with some other "Mom Friends" with our children, ages 4 and 5, to Casbah. I know they don't have a kids menu and my children will not eat a panini. So, I stopped by McDonald's and picked up a Happy Meal. We brought the meals in and ordered our food with the Happy Meals in hand. After we paid, sat down and were served, the cashier informed us that we would need to leave with our "outside food." The important part here is that we had already paid and been served before anyone informed us there was a problem with our "outside food." Had there been a problem, I would have hoped the same cashier would have asked us to take it outside BEFORE I ordered and paid since she saw the bags. She said it was not her rule, but the owner said it had to be enforced. I asked to speak to the owner. She came out and rudely informed me that we would need to leave. After requesting a refund on my meal, that I haven't gotten to eat yet, we were informed of an outside eating area that we could use. Great, we moved outside. This outside area was loud with air conditioner units running, the aroma was "essence of trash" from the trash cans stored there, and complete with a used toilet above our heads on the walkway. There was only enough chairs for 6 people. Our party was 7. One person resorted to sitting on the stairwell to the upper floor. I have never felt like such a second class citizen. I could almost understand if we were taking up seating, but that was not an issue since the restaurant was mostly empty. Clearly this is not a kid friendly place. However, another couple entered with their dog. They were not asked to sit outside or leave. I think it is safe to say that I will never return and make sure to tell all of my friends of my...
Read moreUpdate: The muffins and Sumatra coffee that we brought home from there were delicious and the Sumatra coffee was worth the visit for certain. So I’m adding another star.
We were looking for a place to stop and enjoy while traveling. This place certainly has potential. But it’s seriously lacking that spark. We went there for soup and sandwiches and good coffee. They apparently do not serve soup on Saturday so that was a bummer. The food is tasty but really quite sugary. The cinnamon roll bread pudding was really just a cinnamon roll. The almond chia was not made with almond milk, my mistake. But the customer service was what got me. They were all friendly. But after we ordered we were given a number and told it would be brought out to us. After a bit another guy came around to our table and said our stuff was ready and on the counter. We went to get it. It was just the pastries. They said the drinks weren’t ready or the food. Eventually the other food arrived to our table and we thought to go back to counter and yes, there sat our drinks. Then we realized we needed silverware and napkins. The little plastic fork was short and sharp on the end. We ended up ordering a chia that was actually made with almond milk. We waited some time for that and when I asked if it was ready a guy said oh, it looks like he started it and left it. I told...
