Streib continues to be the best group of tradespeople I’ve ever worked with—they handle all my electrical work, and I won’t hire anyone else. I especially want to give a huge shoutout to Anthony and the Streib office for going above and beyond today.
On Friday (today is Tuesday), I realized—right before installing drywall in my unfinished ceiling—that I needed to get some electrical work done first, as I got a bit concerned about some of the wiring I was seeing in the joists that I noticed. I was in a time crunch and only free Tuesday afternoon. I called the office and, without hesitation, they said, “No problem.” Scheduling a skilled electrician on such short notice and around my schedule? That alone is impressive. The office deserves recognition for that.
In my ignorance, I thought it would be a quick job in under an hour—just decommissioning a junction box, adding wiring for some lights, and adding back an outlet. But as anyone with an old house knows, it’s rarely that simple once you start opening up electrical boxes.
Anthony arrived, assessed the situation, and steadily walked through my project. He also looked over my drywall plan and kindly pointed out that my setup wouldn’t work as-is, like I thought: my old lights were not wired in a way that would be conducive to installing my new lights, and my old junction box (probably original to the house) wouldn’t be safe to change out in a one-to-one swap. He offered to do the additional work right then and there—again, “no problem” to him. He even asked additional questions to make sure I had all the details right. Moreover, he even offered to go above and beyond and get the new lights started with their new junction boxes. This was all despite the fact that I told Streib that this job would be a quick in-and-out job.
Anthony basically rewired my entire basement bedroom, and did it with an attention to customer service and detail. He also did it in record time! He walked me through the entire project, and never made me feel incompetent. And most importantly, he did absolutely beautiful work. It is hard to be impressed by some wiring in an unfinished ceiling, but I am truly impressed by Anthony’s work in my unfinished ceiling! Wow.
I just cannot say enough good things about this company, and about Anthony. I have now worked with 3 different electricians under this company, and it seems that each one is just as good as the last – and they are all great. I will continue to recommend Streib to my friends, and when they ask who they should request, I will have no hesitation in singing Anthony’s praises. I have no shortage of electrical projects that I want to get done in this house, and I have Streib’s...
Read moreI got in touch with Streib through SPAN to have a span panel installed. It took them two weeks to get back to me with a highly inflated quote that didn’t include reference to most of what we discussed. It felt like I had a guy over my house to get a quote, explained what I wanted to do, asked for certain variables so I could make choices, and they came back with a generic overpriced bid that didn’t acknowledge anything we discussed. First Streib doubled the MSRP of the span panel and marked up the span EV charger too, which I also wanted installed at the same time. Streib wanted to charge me for 90 hours of labor just to do a panel replacement and EV charger. The costs of materials were arbitrarily set to 10 units and an unitemized value over $2600. Altogether they wanted just under $20,000 to install a span panel and EV charger in NWA, no service upgrade required and only one run of new heavy gauge wire for the EV charger. Maybe they do excellent work, but the customer experience getting a bid, having to wait for two weeks without contact, and then getting a bid that is more than double what it realistically should be is just corruption and price gouging. Overall just a bad customer experience. Poor communication, price gouging, dishonest pricing that isn’t itemized, didn’t deliver complete bid I asked for with the variables I specifically requested, and the email they sent the bid from isn’t even a support address you...
Read moreMy name is Liz - Afrikitty is my nom de plume. I live in an old house, with my adored hubby, that was built in 19-way back. Over the last few years this house has started withering on us, especially in regards to the electrical system. About three years ago, the electrical system in the kitchen, which was also connected to the lounge, went AWOL on us. Our usual, and very excellent all-in-one-omatic contractors gave up on the kitchen and recommended Streib to us. We were graced by Rob's presence for this job - oh my, I watched him for close to 5 hours as he fought to find the problem in this old house, but he perservered, and lo and behold, he FOUND the hidden problem and fixed it for us. After TWO YEARS in my house of having no electricity in the kitchen and lounge, Rob restored our electricity and our kitchen to us. Needless to say, I was bowing and scraping. Absolute professionalism on Rob's part -- there is nothing more to say. I have since had him back twice to fix up minor electrical problems and he accomplishes them with utter aplomb. Thank you Streib and thank you, Rob -- you do, of course kinow that I always ask for you. (^_^) I am enclosing a photo that Rob took of the offending "thingy" that he found in the wall behind the dishwasher. Don't get a fright when you see it. I think we were fortunate that it died on us instead of causing a fire. Two years without a kitchen was...
