We had been coming here for months with Hugh. He is AMAZING!!
Unfortunately, last time we came in, he was not available. There were issues from when we first arrived as in - the technicians looked PO'ed they were selected randomly to work on our nails. Despite having an appointment, my daughter and I were split up with a wait time between. The nail tech was inpatient with removing my daughters gel nails that Soho had previously applied after grinding them down and soaking them. She was really rough and proceeded to rip them off with her hands and grinding with the tool instead of letting them soak longer, causing one of them to tear and bleed.
The nail tech I had was really unprofessional and made me uncomfortable telling me to "Relax" repeatedly as I watched him rush with the drill he was using so aggressively on my nails -- stripping everything down the top nail layer instead of letting the acetone soak to remove the existing gel, damaging my actual nail. It was actually painful.
Read all the other "lowest" reviews -- some techs value time/money and quick turn of clients over quality/safety and will leave your natural nails ruined.
I had to go to Face and Body to have this set Soho applied removed - it took over 20+ minutes of waiting after each nail was applied with the removal + foil then allowed to soak in the heat gloves followed by a gentle, manual removal and because of Soho Nails, my natural nails are damaged...
Read moreI'm taking this down to one star after seeing how many reviews mention people's natural nails being RUINED by filing/Dremel, and the salon is responding to these people and still allowing this practice! SOAK OFF.
I'm kicking myself for not walking out when the wait was longer than they told me when I walked in, and then the nail tech took existing gel off my natural nails with the Dremel. The last time I went to a salon like this my nails, which are naturally very strong, took a year to recover. This is more about speed and turning tables than it is about good practices. Then the polish had some kind of reaction (I think she didn't shake it first) and it was a mess. Thankfully she managed to salvage it without starting over, and they look fine for the moment, but the entire experience was like she had a gun to her head, so rushed and not at all relaxing. Cleaned up a messy job my using an emery board to get the polish off my skin. I regret taking a chance on a new place while my kid was at a dance lesson.
Adding to this review: I have taken gel off at home MANY times. I know how to soak off. Because this nail tech did not START OVER when she realized something was wrong, she went with extra coats instead. It has taken HOURS for me to remove this manicure. My nails will not recover from this for a year. I will be telling EVERYONE I know to avoid this salon. Worst salon...
Read moreI use to go here all the time last year, but the last few times I went, the person kept cutting my toe and making me bleed. And I kept getting frustrated that they would always find a way to not honor their promos and gift cards. Well against my better judgement I went back recently because I saw they were having a promo ran via the grocery shop next door and I thought things would be different. Wrong. This is the same ol games played. They still will give you the run around on how they canât accept THEIR promos. Although my tech was quite friendly, he didnât clean under my nails well and was very manipulative about what a manicure entails and price. Why on earth would a simple manicure be $25 and itâs just a clean up and polish? No scrub, no massage, no oil. Oh and if you do decide to get dip nails or anything powder related just know, your hand and everyone elseâs will be dipped into the same powder container. Not the powder being poured into a separate container THEN used on an individual. I couldâve sworn that was not safe and healthy per the state guidelines. It really doesnât matter what this salon say or respond back to me because I wonât be back and I will be sure to not recommend none of my family...
