i highly recommend going to the ellisville or fairview heights locations before coming here. the staff at this location seriously lack customer service skills. a few months ago i had probably the worst retail experience i’ve ever had, and i wouldn’t have left a bad review but i’ve heard it’s a consistent issue so i thought i’d share my experience.
i visited on a senior discount day so naturally it was pretty packed and chaotic. i shopped around and stopped by the area with all of the furniture to go over my items before i checked out (if they had dressing rooms or accepted returns i wouldn’t have to do this, but there’s nowhere to look through your cart since the store is packed with racks and i refuse to pay high prices for damaged items) a worker was standing near me, moving furniture around, walked to the back, then pulled a couch out and proceeded to SCREAM across the room at me to move. i didn’t respond at first cause i couldn’t believe an employee was behaving in such a disrespectful and dramatic manner. i’m not sure why he didn’t tell me i needed to move when he was standing just two feet away from me a few minutes prior to this, but i moved and proceeded to check out.
when i went to check out i had an issue ringing my items up. a higher up walked by and offered to help, but he was struggling to fix the issue in the system and when i very politely offered info that might help he snapped at me that he knew what he was doing (he in fact did not, he ended up needing help from a cashier, who was very sweet and helpful)
i’ve been a savers customer for over a decade now and spent probably thousands at the store and i’ve worked in customer service for 9 years so i’m very aware of how easy it is to work with the public. to be kind and considerate should be effortless, but clearly at this...
Read moreThe woman who is extremely rude at this location is unfortunately a supervisor and her name is Melissa. I recognize the rolling of the eyes comments from other customers. She has been harrassing me every time I come in there. Just last night it was 5 minutes before closing. I was looking at purses when she approached me and talked to me as if I were her child. Demanding that I get in line. I simply requested that she leave me alone and she proceeded to tell me I was not checking out today and needed to leave!!!!!! As if that weren't enough when I got upset she threatens that she is about to clock out like she wanted to fight me. I have never in my life been so disrespected. I want to know why she was bothering me instead of checking out customers. I wasn't holding her up from closing the store. The line was plenty long enough and I was not the only customer still shopping. This is not the first time I've had an issue with this same supervisor. This time I contacted corporate. I'm making sure she is held accountable for her actions. I'm giving them the 72 hours they requested before I file a better business bureau and attorney general complaint. Unfortunately, she has harrassed an educated and highly intelligent consumer. I refuse to allow her to run me off from my favorite store. I've also had several conversations with the staff who work for her and they said she is a nigtmare. She acts completely different when upper management is there. So the employees have issues with her and I'm 100% sure that many customers have had problems with her. Hopefully this will open someone's eyes as to what...
Read moreEveryone kept telling us they were closing in X amount of time. At 8:50, Alyssa came up to me and said they closed in 5 minutes. I responded, “No, you close in 10. Please stop harassing us.” Alyssa then specifically targeted me, saying loudly, “OKAY, WELL WE CLOSE OUR REGISTER AT NINE!” (Yes, she yelled this.)
After that, she went to her group of friends in the back and proceeded to speak loudly about how I was rude. All I said was that they close in 10 minutes because we had been repeatedly approached, and I just wanted to be left alone.
Please consider terminating Alyssa. She was absolutely awful.
I also spoke to the manager, who was incredibly rude, dismissive, and disrespectful. She had black and red hair. When I brought up the issue, she said their clocks are fast and “they don’t know.” I told her we had been approached at least 20 times about the closing time, and she replied, “Well, there are only three of them, so you couldn’t have been told that many times.”
Yes—they each told us multiple times.
In summary, I was yelled at by an employee, gossiped about, and then accused of lying by the manager. This was a completely unacceptable...
