Hello everybody. I am a vast blogger and exceptional researcher. This is my first review on a hospital/clinic. I am reviewing this on staff, patient care, and overall experience as well as research from the public.
Lets get started. Patient care; Lets just say there is No patient care. The overall staff just seems to not be friendly, they come off as rude, entitled, and short. Almost like their job is to just heard the cattle. That is how i feel when trying to schedule or get updates/insight. When submitting prior approvals to insurance companies they wait until the day or hours before the appointment, or procedure. This results in the insurance company sending a denial or needing seven to ten business days to review and approve. Resulting in a reschedule. When they do reschedule they blame insurance for denying the procedure. It wasn't until i spoke with the insurance company directly to find out they have appalling communication and (all prior authorizations are supposed to be done at the time the Dr. states the type of procedure needed) Which is typically one to two weeks prior to the appointment. When calling to understand the reasoning they did not get the prior authorization into the insurance company when it was supposed to be submitted. The answer you get is "There's nothing i can do about it". They will change a Dr. that you have requested with a Dr. you did not request, without indicating the change and pretend as if everything is normal and this is "supposed" to happen. The Dr's. and Surgeons as well as some nurses and other medical staff come off as impersonable (no bedside manner), as well as arrogant, entitled, a general lack of care in questions you may have, and all in all, unprofessional. there are only a handful of people there that are truly amazing. The rest are unforgettable in the worst ways possible.
My experience thus far has been atrocious. Here is what I have witnessed and experienced in my care at this facility. Poor Scheduling. Consistent cancelations because they didn't put orders through or made poor judgement on time frames to get prior authorization into the insurance companies. Nurses who attempt IV's four times and cause massive bruising. Dr's that are impersonable and arrogant that make you feel stupid for asking a question. Dr's, Nurses, and staff who blame the patients for things the Dr., Nurse, or staff did incorrectly. Waiting for an appointment that was supposed start and hour earlier, then getting up and walking to scheduling and ask why i have not been seen to then have them go ask the nurse why it has been over an hour. Then having the nurse say the Dr is with a patient that is taking a long time and stated we will do a phone appointment in two days, Then never calling and I have to call to be rescheduled. Staff that have known about an upcoming procedure for two weeks, only to put in the prior authorization at the end of the day then telling the poor receptionist to call the patient and tell him it has to be rescheduled while he has been waiting two months to get this done and have zero information as to why again. During my colonoscopy and EGD prep i was unable to eat, on laxatives and only allowed clear liquids for the day before and the day of. I was called by Kara Thomas Jenkins. She had Zero empathy, care, and respect for what i was going through. I blew up at her, yelling, and swearing. Demanding they get their S%!* together. The day of my appointment they put a no trespass order on me. This is their patient care. You do not mater!
If you or anyone you know has experienced even a fraction of what i have. Use your voice, Speak up, Stop allowing ourselves to receive this type of treatment from facilities that claim to care about a patients wellbeing. If you have suffered, I advise you to seek out legal council. These facilities need to be held accountable and suffer consequences they constantly...
Read moreI have had two absolutely terrible experiences here. Both involving my little girl. First time I brought her in, she had been crying and had a high fever for a few days. After having an unbelievably long interview, with the receptionist in entry, with a sobbing baby in my hip, we were brought into an emergency room that LITERALLY HAD BLOOD smeared on the floor, as well as the cabinetry near the sink. I was seen by an unenthusiastic doctor, that told me âmy daughterâs ear was a little redâ and there was nothing that she could do to help us. The next day, I brought my daughter to the Staples emergency room, Lakewood health systems, and they DIAGNOSED her with an ear infection, and prescribed her antibiotics. Which at that point her eardrum had ruptured.
The second time was yesterday. Once again, I was greeted by people that lacked any compassion, empathy or enthusiasm. News flash: If you are working in an emergency room, you may be the LAST person somebody sees. And, you are definitely the nurses and doctors people under the most incredible stress of their lives, rely upon. COMPASSION SHOULD BE OBVIOUS AT ALL TIMES. Your patients are not cattle and you (doctors and nurses) are not heartless robots. Youâre literally called a âCARE providerâ. CARE.
My nurse was impatient with my sobbing baby, in clear pain. She was impatient with us and acted as if I didnât have parental rights of my child. This time, my husband and I walked out after overhearing the nurse talking to the doctor about their plans to hold down our baby to get the vitals, they felt they needed. Iâm no expert, but I know for a fact that not a single vital sign will be accurate if a child is under complete duress. We walked out before even seeing the doctor after I had overheard the nurse and doctor conversation. Disgusted.
Once again, we went to Lakewood in Staples. We were greeted by a gentle and compassionate woman at the entry of the emergency room. NO LONG INTERVIEW. Then we were greeted by a nurse that had a gentle smile on her face. She showed concern for my daughter, and brought her baby toys and a warm blanket. Gentle compassion also came from the x-ray technicians that helped my baby, the ultrasound technician (Who also brought a warm blanket) And my doctor, who actually contacted his pediatrician wife and had her come out of her way to speak with us. They realized that my daughter was under great stress, so rather than trying to force a rectal thermometer reading (like CRMC), they took her temperature via forehead. (Makes more sense than holding down a 15 month old in extreme gastrointestinal pain.) But somehow, I know more than these âeducatedâ individuals in Crosby.
When she was worked up during vitals at Lakewood, they waited until she was calm, and then they read her pulse the old-fashioned way; with a stethoscope. LOGIC. I will absolutely under no circumstance ever recommend or return to that disgusting hospital CRMC. NO HEART. NO TACT. NO COMMON SENSE. NO COMPASSION. Oh and NO...

I spent over 40 hours in labor and during that time in labor and delivery department every room was filled. Another local hospital OR had to close due to unforeseen circumstances and Crosby was able to take on those patients and help support them through their delivery. This created for a very busy time.
I wouldâve never known that this time could be a time full of laughter and joy. The day I came in Jenny and Nikki supported me the most and weâre so fun to be around down to earth and very authentic. Every need and want of mine was fulfilled. I wouldâve never known that they were completely filled as I felt like I got the full undivided attention and like I was the only one there. This team works so well with each other!
I really enjoyed watching everyone work together as they work well together. The communication between everyone was very clear and you can tell they truly enjoy each otherâs company. You can also tell they truly love their job and they are very patient centered and have a genuine care for their patients.
There was so many things I was nervous about as a first time single mother, but again the care I received helped reduce anxiety.
Honestly, I did not want to leave because I was having so much fun and I really grew to enjoy the company of all the...
