I would love to give 5 stars as it is deserved, almost.

Pros: Beautiful location, very clean. Food was hot and delicious. To go order was quickly made. Welcomed quickly when entered with love although I am a out of town guy and my first time here.

Cafe was recommended by Holiday Gas Station clerks as they said when they said some work guys stopped in the other day and raved about the food. I simply asked a question, who as the best food in town? i was pointed to NC.

Laura was server, she let me have a sample of the Broccoli & Cheese soup as I was going to get a bowl. After some indecision on my end, Laura was patient, kind and a huge asset to your organization!!! I like jalapeños, and at a near a dollar add-on, I decided against adding it to my 1/3 cheeseburger.

My order was to go. The order requested was perfect: cheeseburger, french fries, pickles, salt, packet, a side of ketchup and barbecue sauce and utensils, with a side of Pepper :-)

More Pros: Buns were toasted, French Fries were hot, crispy and I would definitely order a full plate of those!

Cons and the reason for a 4 star and not a 5 at least for now and hope to be able to change this rating when I come back, possibly as soon as tomorrow as I will be in town. My disappointment was the cheese was already evaporated before I got to take a bite less than a minute later (see pic). My pickles had a monster hole in one and the other was torn apart (only speaking of appearance) Pickles were fresh and good! The burger, although delicious was too salty and I love salt! The bottom bun was too buttery and squishy, and basically dissipated as I put finger pressure on it. (These are all EASY easy things to fix and that’s why I mention them otherwise Hillary you may never know). You should still go 100%

The 1 thing I would consider changing is the BBQ was to bland, I didn’t even know it was BBQ, just paste my opinion, wish there was a bit of punch and flavor. I hope I am allowed to come in again sometime :-)

Highly...

Checks all the boxes for a perfect cafe meal.

I was dropping my son off at a Hockey Camp nearby, and we had an hour to kill. We were both hungry so decided to grab a bite to eat somewhere local. When traveling I always try to find a local, independent place to eat, and this looked perfect as we drove down Crosby's Main Street.

It's a pretty typical cafe layout: checkout and counter down one end, with tables and booths filling the rest of the space. It has recently been remodeled with stone-effect tiles to waist height, and the walls decorated with pictures and memorabilia from the town's past. Very tasteful and inviting.

The menu was extensive, with each item well described. Prices seemed very reasonable. My son, 12 and growing fast with a voracious appetite, chose the "Roast Beef Dinner", because it "looked like the most food". It was less than $8. He wasn't disappointed. 2 generous slices of pot roast beef, mashed potatoes, corn and gravy. It beat him. He had a smile on his face.

I ordered the eggs Benedict. Although the eggs weren't poached in the proper way (cooked in a poaching dish rather than poached directly in vinegar/water), they were tasty, and the Hollandaise sauce was plentiful and tasty.

Service was great. All the wait staff I noticed were younger, but all were friendly, smiley and efficient.

All in all, it was a great meal, and for under $17 it...

The decor is quite lovely and that is the only positive aspect of this cafe. One out of the bunch of waitresses cluttered behind the counter was the most helpful, I didn’t catch her name. No smiles, not a welcoming environment at all. The very tall dark haired lady was chomping gum like crazy, just unprofessional. There was lipstick on my coffee cup, which was taken care of and then I found hair in my stuffed Cajun hash browns. I was over it at that point and didn’t finish it or bring it to their attention. We chose a bad spot to sit, we were right behind the dirty dishes that were slammed down so hard I jumped almost ever time. I don’t think I’ve ever been to an establishment where the dirty dish bin was within view of the customers. We won’t be back and we surly won’t recommend...

Nothing remarkable about the food. Nothing was homemade and cheap ingredients. Corned beef hash was simple canned store bought hash- burned dude up and slimy, uncooked side hidden face down on the plate. The bread was store bought with margarine smeared on the slices in the kitchen; the jelly was cheap sugar gel in plastic cafeteria individual servings. The Monte crisco was simple pan fried sandwich, not egg or batter dipped, or accompanied by traditional fruit sauce dip- but swimming in mustard that greased the cheap lunch meats to slide out of the bread. Once us enough. Not worth the $42.00 price when the ingredients are obviously from an institutional food supplier without a single indication that this is a unique and memorable place to eat.
