My bike needed alot of work, all I asked was to replace the brake pads and the shifter on the left handlebar. They said about $60 total. They told me the company stopped making that shifter 2 years ago. (even though another bike shop I went to had 2 in stock) The other shop said $30, this shop said they could put a different shifter on for $15 and I'll just have to find gears 1-3 in the 12 clicks. Whatever it's cheaper.
When I picked my bike up to my surprised they didn't replace the brake pads because they still had life on them. WOW 12,000 miles half of them touring and we still going strong huh? So it's cheaper right? No it's $70 now. My handlebar grips were too long so they offered to cut them.. what did you cut them with this looks so bad I used the sidewalk to sand them down some to make the cuts look somewhat smooth. I wanted to be able to break and reach all my gears I cannot break and reach all my gears and I'm out $70
If your thinking of taking your bike here.. go down to George Washington's cabin, give one of those homeless people $20 and a roll of duct tape....

We limped into Cycles & Things right before closing, where one of the employees - seeing the sorry state of the bike wheel - literally went home and found a wheel off of a family member’s bike so that my boyfriend’s bike could be usable again.
They worked fast, got the bike fixed in no time, and charged us minimally for labor. They chatted with us about bike maintenance, looked into some other issues we had, and were all around great guys.

Read moreComing through town after a beautiful ride down from the eastern continental divide, we stopped by the store to get some advice about different tires for the terrain . Dana was very accommodating, went with us into the parking lot to look at our present tires. Gave her advice and we went on our way- to turn around ( after calling her ) almost immediately and returned to have her install our new tires etc. Her service was amazing, pleasant and timely. I have never written a review of more than ten words- but I want to give this business and its owner Dana a big shoutout- to render service willingly without the expectation of a sale , that’s...
