Went to try to sell some clothes. I get that they don't take nice clothes (business or formal wear) but they wouldn't take a single item. I'm talking rejecting brands like Vince Camuto, Johnston and Murphy, Adidas, Reebok etc. They tried to say that the styles aren't selling which is ludicrous. Active wear and cute dresses have never has a problem selling. It was honestly just very insulting. I get that they are moving some things into backstock and some of the summer items, but they didn't take any of the fall items which should have been a priority buy. I really wish these places would only allow adults to do the clothing evaluations. The future customers really missed out today because of a bad call to reject everything. If I was the franchise owner I would train the employees about high end brands and styles because they seem to think if a teenager wouldn't wear it that other adults who shop there wouldn't. I just wish they weren't so quick to dismiss styles and brands. Designer brands will always sell. I mean how are they going to reject new and like new designer brands and then have a staff pick rack where the nicest thing came from target (mossimo.) in honestly I have been shopping with uptown for years but I don't think I will be going back. She was rude and dismissive not just because of the clothes I brought. It was already a disappointing experience, I didn't need attitude added to my already bad experience. She almost seemed shocked that I shocked. How do you think someone is going to react when they have sold there in the past and they know they have high demand items and you don't even consider them. Again I understand they can only take a limited amount but she didn't bother to take anything at all and then just acted super weird with me even though I was nice and respectful and didn't even try to argue with her. In case you want to know who it was it's some employee who was we working today at 4:30 with unnatural red hair. I don't want her to be fired or written up but she doesn't need to learn about name brands and proper...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTREATED HORRIBLY!! Very disappointing visit today after spending 100ās of dollars in the store. My daughter (a nurse) found cute nursing socks and I was going to buy them for her along with several other items. When we got to check out we were told the tag on them was incorrect and it was a brand that they donāt sell so someone must have ādropped themā during drop off. I expressed Iād still like to purchase if possible. That did not explain why there was a tag on it and they insinuated that we put the tag on it. I asked to speak to the manager and after a long wait, she came out and told me that it was not a product they sold but were willing to sell them to me ( at a higher price than was ticketed.) Mind you, tag said $2.99, and they offered to sell them to me for $3.99. Money is not an issue, but the fact they were trying to charge me more so they āwin the argumentā was insulting. They told me this was at the discretion of the owner. I asked when the owner was in and they told me she never was really there. I asked for her name and contact and they refused to provide it. Again if they tag said $3.99 I would not have even hesitated buying them but the fact that they were being that manipulative AND THEY ACCUSED US OF PUTTING A TAG ON IT OURSELVES was beyond unacceptable. HORRIBLE customer service. I will definitely be taking my business elsewhere. AND they were NURSE socks!...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBEWARE: This place is EXTREMELY PREDATORY. They donāt disclose that they will scam you! Here is what happened: My gf went into the store to leave some items to sell. The items included 3 brand new authentic Polo Ralph Lauren Shirts (with tags) $95 each. (I got them a long time ago they didnt fit and I forgot to exchange them.) What they donāt disclose though is if you leave the store while they appraise your items you basically pre approve whatever amount they want to give you. So for those 3 items plus a few other nike and gymshark items they offered us $15! But because you pre-approve their offer if you decide to leave you canāt do anything to claim it back! On top of that, the people working DO NOT disclose this to you. They basically just ask whether you will stay or leave and have you sign the card reader and then print you the receipt. Now in fairness the receipt does have this policy and my gf definitely should have read it after but this is very manipulative to not verbally tell the customer but leave it in fine print. Am I the only one that thinks this is wrong or has had this experience? Apparently if you stay in the store you have the ability to ābargainā and chose what you keep and so forth which sounds good in theory but they typically take hours to get back to you with an offer and nobody is gonna waste that kind of time for clothes...
