We stopped into Hacienda and sat at the bar. Things started off well—the margarita was good and the bartender was friendly... until I had to bring up an issue with my food. That’s when everything changed.
I ordered the fish tacos ($20 for three), and what came out was extremely disappointing. Each taco had maybe five tiny half-inch cubes of grilled fish. They were clearly trying to make up for it with loads of shredded red cabbage to make them look full. When I finally got the bartender’s attention (after he was gone for about five minutes), he said, “Give me one minute.” Ten minutes later, he brought out just one taco with a bit more fish—still not much.
I told him that all three tacos needed to be fixed, and he looked at me like I was asking for something unreasonable. Then the manager came over and asked how we were doing. I explained the situation and got the same blank stare—no apology, no acknowledgment.
Eventually, one more taco came out. Then, ten minutes after that, another. By this point, my wife had been done with her meal for 15 minutes, and I had lost any interest in eating. I didn’t even touch the new tacos.
We asked for the check, and the full taco order was still on it. No offer to adjust the bill. No apology. We paid and left, completely disappointed. From the moment I voiced a concern, it felt like we were being brushed off.
Yes, the interior is nicely remodeled and clean, but that doesn’t make up for overpriced, skimpy food and poor customer service.
If you're in Cumming, skip this place and head to Los Rios instead—better food, better value, and...
Read moreThe food is solid. Not exceptional, but good enough that my family has ordered there several times. However, after multiple orders, we have never gotten a takeout order that was correct. The last time I went, I made sure to go through the order before I left. There were multiple things missing from the order, and instead of getting the Texas fajitas I ordered, they gave me steak instead. As I was waiting an extra 15 minutes for them to correct their mistakes, the sever took my bill I had not yet signed. I assumed he was going to discount something to compensate for the extra wait and inconvenience (which was standard practice in the decade I worked in restaurants). Instead, the manager thought it important to add an extra $2 to the bill in order for me to pay for what had been their initial mistake. Also, rather than simply adding chicken and shrimp (and the other three things missing from my order), they removed some of the already cooked steak to reduce the portion size before adding the other elements. Quite poor execution of an order by the kitchen, no quality control by the server or kitchen management, poor customer service/satisfaction, and nickle-and-diming on portion size and charges by the manager. There are too many other great Mexican restaurants in the area for them to operate this way. Two dollars is going to cost them a lot more in...
Read moreWe are the Benson’s. And since my daughter was 4, we’ve been celebrating both hers and her fathers birthday together here. It’s always been great! Service, the atmosphere and the food.
Today was astonishingly bad. Service was inconsistent, if at all. We were never checked on for refills or round of drinks. Our food took over an hour to get to our table, after two other tables were sat and served after us. We didn’t eat, weren’t hungry any longer and wanted the check.
Our “BIRTHDAY GIRL”, 7 years old, never got her Pizza dinner. We were never told why or offered an apology.
When the check was brought to us, they didn’t even remove the pizza, because the waiter had no clue we were missing food.
We came here to celebrate our daughters birthday. She didn’t get food, and then not even recognized for her birthday. Which she always loved being sung too. Other tables had birthdays, and got celebrated. Before anyone says it’s about free desert, it’s not. My little girl wanted to be sung too and wear the big Sombrero.
When I approached a manager to locate our waiter, he never cared to ask if there was a problem. He could’ve cared less.
We’ll deal with the disappointed 7year old.
Hacienda, you’ve lost this families business and my companies dinners when my teams...
