Cupertino Village Optometry, APC — Local services in Cupertino

I thought it was odd that an optometry practice next to 99 Ranch that has been around for 30 years would have so few reviews and would have so many negative reviews. I'd recommend checking them out. Both doctors speak native English and were educated in the US.

I had my 5-year old daughter do an eye exam here. Dr. Shum was very patient and great with kids. He and the receptionist were both also very patient with my many questions about the different myopia prevention options. What I appreciated the most was honesty and transparency. I originally wanted to move forward with a treatment option, but after an exam, he recommended to continue to monitor. Instead of selling a service that I was pretty sure I wanted to do, he did what he felt was right for my daughter (not was was good for business), and recommended to check at the next exam. Rude, unprofessional and costly

The doctor checked the eye and told that the power has increased, so we ordered new glasses, but the power was not required and started giving headache so I returned and ordered again with the original power.

The staff keep speaking in chinese amongst themselves, which is very rude for non-chinese audience like me.

3.. I used to visit an optometrist in San Jose, but due to some appointment requirements early I visited them, but found out that the frame they gave was quite costly. I found the same frame online and when showed them that the actual cost online is almost half, they did not seem happy ( expected ) but said they cannot do anything to lower, but I can get my own frame.

And when I asked them for any discount, they said the max they can do is a 15 cent...

Don't go to this place, they are very slow and do not responsible, if you get your glasses and leave, you won't have a chance to ask for a fix if your glasses has any issue even the damage is their fault. I really think we customer should pay more attention and make use of the reviews from public website like Google Map or Yelp. We may not want to spend time to write many good words for a good service but customers will be very likely to write more about the bad experience they have, at least for me, I will definitely use yelp or other trustful public organizations review system to decide whether to go to...
