It’s the first weekend since it was opened, the store was small inside so I didn’t expect much items. We waited for little more than 30 mins before getting into the store. The store was nothing like the one in San Francisco Downtown , where there were 2 stories and so much to see. There was not much character selections too . Sanrio items used to be price whatever on the tag , but I guess it’s different nowadays. Prices are marked up around 10-25% from the tags. I got two keychains for my girls with bling bling on them , it was $14 each. Two keychains add up to $30 after tax ! Not sure if is worth it , but I can’t find the keychains on Sanrio website. The characters I saw was Hello Kitty , Kuromi , Melody , Cinnamon Roll. We wanted to see items from Hangyodon, but staff told us the plush was already all gone. The Gashapon Bandai machines was $8 each! The gift inside was all Sanrio characters. I was expecting $5 the most, but is way more and is was just too much just for a Gashapon machines. Hopefully the inventory will be better later on. Will go again , but maybe after the holiday season.

‼️THE SALE IS A LIE!‼️ They’re having a “sale”, which means they cover up the original price tag with a higher price, and then place an orange sale sticker next to it with the original price. There was a $20 price tag on top of the white $13.50 sticker. What a joke. Store is over priced, scummy, and the employees stalk you around the store after NOT greeting you in the first place. Definitely not the same Sanrio store we grew up with. Still cute, but they need more variety when it comes to characters. Popular characters get new items while I see the same Chococat and Pochacco merch from the past 3 months (or longer!). Cute store to just look around in but you can find cheaper merchandise from other stores. I constantly find small $20 keychains in this store, but there’s larger plushies that are also $20? I dont know the logic behind their pricing. Demand and greed im assuming.

The place has a lot of Kuromi and Cinnamoroll items, including blankets and those are just what I have been collecting. There are less of the original characters as others have said but they make less of them in Japan general, so it’s not the store’s problem. Forever 21’s merchandise doesn’t count. I do love Keroppi though. The prices are so expensive. I went to Japan last month and was delighted to see some of the same seasonal outfits on the plushes here. The only difference is that this store is not affordable. I would still recommend checking it out. Maybe buying it online elsewhere? There is sometimes a line to get in but I think the hype has died down.

The selection in this store is pretty terrible. I didn't expect much to begin with, because it's pretty small and it's also located in the US, but even then, I was surprised at how much of the store was just the same characters over and over again (90% of the items were just Cinnamoroll, My Melody, Hello Kitty, and Kuromi). If you have a favorite character that's not in the top 6 or 7 for most popular, it's quite a struggle to find merchandise of it. For example, my favorite is Tuxedosam and I was only able to find 1 small Tuxedosam-themed sticker pack (though, we were let into the store at around 3pm so it's a possibility some of it was sold out). As for the price, it's obviously expensive because it's official merchandise (generally about 2 times the original Japanese price). But it's nothing too bad. The item quality also seemed good enough. The wait was about half an hour, which isn't terrible, but the items in the store were not worth the wait, in my opinion. The store itself is clean and the employees are good. I only recommend this store to people whose favorites are popular, otherwise there are much...

Where do I start...

Now, I grew up in SJ with a large generation of us who actually had the ORIGINAL SANRIO Store that was inside of Eastridge Mall. I was so excited to finally hear that a Sanrio was to open again in hopes with my now "Adult money" I can buy whatever I want without asking if "can I get this from my mom?" from my mom. This shop does NOT compare to that. Might as well call this shop, HK and Kuromi only store instead of "Sanrio". Yes, they are Sanrio characters but it seems to only cater to those characters. Where are all the original characters that actually make Sanrio "Sanrio"?! If you're looking for your favorite characters that you grew up with like Pochacco, Kerropi, etc you won't find that here. Go a few doors down to Daiso. But if your specifically just wanting HK and the new characters like Kuromi and whatever new characters that recently showed up. Feel free to spend your paycheck or your parents money here (overpriced imo).

I won't be back til they decide to add ALL ORIGINAL CHARACTERS back into this...
