La Patisserie Bakery — Restaurant in Cupertino

Going through a lot of reviews, we decided to buy our anniversary cake from La Patisserie. The bakery is a small but lovely place. There are a lot of pastries and puffs in the counter, along with macarons, cake slices, etc. Also this place has a lot of options for everyday cakes, which most of the cake shops do not.

We decided to go with the Neopolitan cake and pre-ordered it. We could not leave the place without having something else. So we bought a chocolate French macaroon (large) and Creme brulee.

The French macaroon was yummy not too sweet and baked to perfection. Creme brulee was good and hard. I am not sure what the texture of brulee is usually, and hence cannot give a review. The creme brulee here was really hard and not overly sweet.

The behind-the-counter people were very friendly and was helpful in explaining the cakes. The visit was a very pleasant one and am waiting to see how the cake we ordered turns out.

Updated: So we got the cake that we had pre-ordered, the Neopolitan cake. Though the writing was not as good as I expected, the cake was one of the best I ever tasted.

The cake had several layers consisting of chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. The cake was not overly sweet, and each layer distinctively had the flavor. The layers were covered with whipping cream mixed with chocolate and white chocolate slabs.

Being a person with sweet tooth, I could not leave the place without trying another pastry. We bought the Napolean pastry, which was really really good. The creamy custard filled sweet puff was a new dish which I tried, and would definitely try again.

First time having La Patisserie! I have never tried any of their desserts or cakes, but they all look so good whenever I pass by.

Today, I ordered some cake & other desserts for my birthday through a delivery service. I ordered a Raspberry Mousse, Tiramisu, Cheesecake, and a Creme Brûlée. The Raspberry Mousse was the only one that was a full size cake, and the others were minature size.

The Raspberry Mousse: Fluffy, airy cake with a raspberry filling in the middle between the cake layers. The raspberry wasn't overly sweet, just the right amount. It also had white chocolate shards on top, which was a nice touch, along with fresh raspberries!

The Tiramisu: The flavor was too much, not too sweet, and it just melts in your mouth! Honestly, I this this one was my Favorite out of all. I just loved how it melted whenever I took a bite. It was just so smooth and creamy!!

The Cheesecake: It was pretty moist, thick, and heavy cheesecake. I'm not a big fan of American cheesecake but this was pretty good.

The Creme Brûlée: I never had a creme brûlée before, so I didn't know what to expect. It was not too sweet, and also pretty soft!

I would totally order something again from this patisserie! If it was from this list, I'd order another Tiramisu. Best...

Bad customer service. I had place an order for a specialty theme cake for my daughter’s birthday few weeks ago in advance. It was all communicated through email and I agreed to buy my own topper so they can make the cake and the theme i wanted. I was told to dropped my cake topper off to their store and I did it ahead of time. I came the day of pick up and when the cake box is opened, my cake topper is not in there. So i asked the guy what happened to my topper? There’s no topper there. He had no clue so he went and talked to someone at the back and the lady came out and told me that they didn’t put my topper to avoid getting damaged on transportation. Then why tell me on email to dropped it off so they can do it. Wasted my time. The lady offered to do it herself or i can just do it at home. I decided to take the cake home and they gave me a box with the toppers inside. When I came home, I opened the box and realized it was a wrong toppers they gave me. I had to call the store and let them know they gave me a wrong toppers. Sent someone to their store again just to returned what they gave me and get my toppers. Will never gonna order a cake here or come back on this store again. Unorganized and lack of communication for the price...
