This has been one of the best decisions we've ever made. Our little one started in the Tom Vo Tae Kwon Do program at just three years old and has continued to grow within it. He is now a candidate belt, training for his black belt. Hands down, Tom Vo's program is the most effective, reliable, consistent, and challenging among the dojos I've heard about from other parents. Simply put, Tom Vo's program is incomparable.
ALL the masters, instructors, leadership are amazing! They exemplify what you would want to see in a leader and a mentor! The kids are introduced to the program in a way that allows them to level up as they take on increasingly challenging activities. The gradual progression is truly something to witness and be a part of. One of the greatest benefits of this program is that kids and parents alike can see different levels of skills to aspire to. The philosophy of "training makes perfect" and pushing through challenges is a valuable lesson that is constantly reinforced.
That said, these benefits don't come easy--just like anything worthwhile in life. It takes hard work, discipline, and consistency. There is a commitment required from the students and guidance expected from the parents.
We are truly grateful for the dedication and effort the masters put into working with the students. I love seeing my little one grow and take ownership of both the small and big things in life.
The experiences that our little one goes through in this program such as tournament, belt testing, intense black belt camp, leading warm-up in class and everyday interactions with other kids in different walks of life are opportunities to have unique and valuable conversations that no other environment can offer.
Tom Vo Tae Kwon Do gives these kids a better chance and a greater opportunity to...
Read moreOur friend recommended Tom Vo and our daughter liked it as soon as she started on her first day. We live in Anaheim and the school is 10-15min away from us and we were thinking of transferring her to a taekwondo class that’s closer to our place. But she loves her masters in this location and in westminster location too so we kept her here and seeing her improvement is really worth the drive.
She’s definitely very fond of her masters because she learns a lot from them and we definitely see the results. Most of her masters are skilled high school or college black belters, they are strict but funny and playful at the same time. Our daughter is 7yrs old and her lessons from them are very repetitive in the but we saw how she develops her skills. Her kicking and punching is way better, and even the exercises they do during warm up helps a lot with her physical growth and knowledge. We’re busy parents and having someone to teach her this stuff is a huge help. She learns a lot about discipline and we can definitely see this character from her masters and older kids with higher belts and has been with them for a while.
They do their best to accomodate everyone in all their classes. Even though there are some kids with higher belts, the kids with lower belts still get trained very well. This also helps our daughter see what higher belt holders do and she strives to work harder to be in that...
Read moreWas waiting to write this review to see if they would change my mind but nope. . .no change. The instruction is very good. I like that you do not have to commit to a specific day & time, however it stops there. You do need to commit to a minimum of one year and with children that can be hard to do. Do NOT sign up your child unless you truly believe they will commit to a full year. They expect me to pay over $500.00 to cancel my contract because it's not for my daughter. I was also told by an instructor "if she quits she'll build a habit of quitting everything in life". She gave it a good run, 3 months. She's only 7. I refuse to force her to continue an activity she dislikes. I believed in the beginning they cared about my daughter, I now know they care more about the money. It's forunate for a working class family to be able to afford to put their child(ren) into an activity at all, it sad when they are forced into paying for services not...
