Avoid this location at all costs! The employees are polite, but unknowledgeable about the inner workings of Big Lots. The Manager Marco is the most confrontational manager I may have ever dealt with. He speaks over you, he has a bad attitude but it's also a sarcastic tone with an angry facial expression, it makes a very unwelcome and unpleasant customer experience. My hands were shaking from the Anxiety he caused. He refused to help solve the issue at hand, then stated he wouldn't help us in anyway if it compromised his job? We signed up for a Big Card that came with a 1 time use 20% off coupon. When Marco couldn't figure out his own system, he called me a liar to my face with less words and said "I had already used the coupon" I informed him we signed up with Robert at the counter 10 minutes prior to dealing with him. He rolled his eyes and said "I'll talk to my store manager, but I'm not doing anything else to help you" at this point you would think I was making huge demands or being confrontational myself, that was not the case. I accused Marco of being unhelpful and I thought he might get physical with me based on his facial expressions and muscle flexing. I read on the email that you had to scan the account bar code, then the coupon bar code, which I did by myself while no employees were to be found. When he came back to tell us he couldn't do anything to help, I informed him I had fixed his system myself while he was gone. He then refused to check us out, he wanted to give a speech about how he had been in the right this entire time. I told him to shut up and process the transaction, which he did. I asked to speak to Edem, the Store Manager. He spoke with me in front of other customers and right next to Marco, he allowed Marco to interrupt me while I explained the situation, then Edem got an attitude when I asked Marco if he disagreed with my statement. Edem said "Address me, not my employees". I explained to him that he has a confrontational manager that escalates minor situations into major complications. Edem did not apologize for the situation in anyway. Simply smerked his face and said "Thanks for your complaint". Neither of these men are qualified for management roles in any company. Big Lots needs to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreStaff is very polite but. I was purchasing small side table for patio and plant stand. Both items were on the table in the back isle with other outdoor items. Table had sign saying "buy one item get second 50% off" well great i went to the register but both items rang up original price. In addition, i had to drag to register 3 plant stands because they were zip tied together, i only needed one. Lazy employees? So when i point the price to cashier she asked me to show the table. Ok, we go to the table and after a minute of studying the sign she says oh that's only so and so brand. Okay then why would you have those side tables (at least 3) and those plant stands (6 of those) here on that table? The answer was they will not honor displayed price but i can fill out survey on the receipt. Cashier blamed signage on corporate... Correct me if I'm wrong but it's not corporate that put that sign on the table and it's not corporate that put wrong items on that table. It's store employees, so the least they could do is honor the price instead of blaming wrong stocking...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBig Lots is one of those stores that become a habit because they have pretty much everything that a household needs. Every once in a while, you will find an absolute steal but you can't contemplate on the purchase for too long. Once it is gone, it's pretty much gone. They purchase products in lots or mass quantities, but once they've sold out, you're out of luck. You've been warned. I usually stock up on paper goods, pet foods/supplies, cleaning supplies and they have a wide variety of foodstuffs (yeah, I said it) to indulge in. They even sell furniture, mattresses and everything in between. If you're on a budget, this is the place for...
