Security deposit withheld for 3 months + other issues. This is going to be long review but worth reading if you are considering moving to these apartments: My husband and I were residents at Central Park for 1 year and we are flabbergasted at some of the experiences we’ve had with the office manger Brandy. When we originally applied there was so much run around and inconsistency, but we decided to move in anyway because we had already paid fees that could not be refunded. During our 1 year we had a couple issues regarding money, due to mistakes made BY THE OFFICE. Each time we had an issue and brung it to her attention, Brandy acted as if she didn’t have a care in the world about what was going on. We provided more than a 60 day notice with our forwarding address as required with the assistant manager. A month before we moved out I followed up to make sure we were good and Brandy claimed she had not received this information. We moved out 6/4/22 and waited for our security deposit. Everytime I called Brandy her response was “ I did everything I was supposed to do it’s up to corporate” . I begged her to give me her managers number or someone directly from higher up I could speak with and she refused each time. Anterra management has a line where they can only take messages and this is the number she kept giving me. Our last call she hung up the phone on me. Today is 9/6/22 , We went in to the office to figure out what was going on. We approached her respectfully and genuinely wanted answers. She looked on her computer and made a phone call to someone named Lauren. She started the call with them on speaker and once the woman asked “ what was going on” , Brandy took her off speaker and did not provide her with any real info on what was going on. When I asked Brandy if I could speak with this women she muted the call and said “no she is not higher up she is another manager”. Brandy said that she wasn’t “going back and forth with us about it”. I told her we simply wanted her managers number or someone higher up.. she asked us to leave and threatened to call 911 and security on us if we didn’t leave. Mind you we did absolutely nothing to make this woman feel threatened or unsafe. Immediately after we left the office we looked up the corporate office address and drove there. Thank God we were able to speak with someone which was the Vice President. She was very pleasant and handled the situation IMMEDIATELY, we walked out with our check. While I appreciate her taking care of this, we are still looking into taking legal action because this was absolutely abuse by the office manager. Brandy could have had this resolved months ago or AT LEAST simply apologized for the inconvenience and let us know she would do all she can to figure this out. That’s how you run a office with professionalism . Her attitude and lack of concern made this situation much worse than it ever had to be. I would not recommend this apartment simply because of management.
Other mentions; the maintenance team is the one good thing about this place. They get things done and are...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I stayed here for a year. There are some ok things about this place but mostly it was bad.
Management: When we first moved in, the original management and leasing agents were extremely helpful, responsive, and friendly. After about 5 or 6 months into our lease a new office crew replaced the old. They were probably swamped at first and I give them the benefit of the doubt when they took a long to respond to our emails and inquiries. However, during this time they did have the time to enter our apartment without notifiying us to post a warning on the inside of our door. This is not an emergency reason to enter a tenants apartment. Even with these flaws, they are still very polite and friendly. I will give them that.
Apartment and grounds: The apartment itself is updated for a modern look, but honestly it's just makeup on a pig. Many of the flaws inside the apartment are crudely painted over. Apartment was infested with roaches, which we took it upon ourselves to fight against. We had a rat in our apartment at one point, unfortunately. Our bathtub knob broke off twice. Our bedroom window was broken and doesn't lock. The window also doesn't close all the way. The grounds outside are well kept but that's just to hide the crud that is hidden beneath the surface.
Maintentance: The maintenance guys are very friendly and quick to respond to issues. This is the best part of the apartment. We had many issues with the apartment and they were quick to act on it. AC went out middle of summer and they showed up same day to get it fixed. This was the same with the bathtub knob.
Parking: Parking for residential parking was never a problem. There were always spaces available. Visitor parking is awful though. They have some spaces, but not a lot, and they tow on a whim. They have you register on a website that only allows for 6 days of parking. You must register every day. I recommend doing it immediately. I had my car towed 25 minutes after I parked. I know this because I was planning on leaving that night and I just needed to pack a few things before I left my car elsewhere. This was the 2nd time I was towed so I knew I had to register quickly but I didn't realize it would be within 30 minutes. I had forgotten to register a few times before and my car was never towed during those times, thankfully. However, this inconsistency looks terrible when the parking lot is overflowing. They really need a more organized system and maybe give guests a little bit of time before towing. These apartments are for the not so wealthy and this just drains the little money those visitors have.
I wouldn't recommend this place. There are too many mismanaged things going on. If you have no other choice,...
Read morePros I have lived over a full year at Central Park Apartments. When leasing an apartment one of the top priorities is having a leasing and maintenance team that will support you. And throughout my time at Central Park the Maintenance Team has done an outstanding job! Gayle our current leasing professional does a thorough job of communication, and keeping in touch. With the smaller amount of apartments compared to some larger ones, allows for maintenance to address problems very quickly, all of my maintenance requests were addressed within a day or two, or that week. Rob our current maintenance man works hard, and is very kind, I rolled into the parking lot with a slightly flat tire, and he noticed while I was walking away and volunteered to fill it for me. The team has your back and goes above and beyond to help. The apartments are in a great location with the elementary school and Country club nearby. The atmosphere is very quiet. The apartment appliances are nice. I enjoyed using the multiple close trails nearby often such as the Sopac trail which you can walk/run/bike to in under 5 min.
I really enjoyed the fact that parking was almost always available directly in front of my apartment with where I was in the back and I never had to walk more than 10-30 steps to get in my car.
The amazon lockers for packages were very nice and easy to use making it where you didn't have to worry at all about a lot of your packages ever getting stolen. None of mine sent to my door were ever anyways.
----- Cons There are roaches in the south throughout my lease there was one dead one which is a good sign that the pest control worked, and one live one, the maintenance team sent additional pest control quickly.
My apartment had plumbing issues and leaks throughout but the maintenance team has done an awesome job helping quickly and sending plumbing to address.
If you want luxury this is not the place to get. Would it be worth spending more to get a nicer place? Perhaps, but I found this to be a good deal and nice apartment. I would continue living here if I wasn't relocating for work.
I would live here again and this is a solid 3.5 - 4 star apartment. The leasing team gets 5/5 stars for how quickly and actively they help, so when you have problems it is nice knowing you have a team that is by your side, which made living here an...
