Kitchen Design Concepts — Local services in Dallas

We interviewed several kitchen remodeling companies but ultimately went with Kitchen Design Concepts (KDC) to design and remodel our kitchen. It's always difficult finding and hiring services that will take the same meticulous care and passion on your home like you would yourself, but Kitchen Design Concepts met and exceeded our expectation. We absolutely love our new and improved kitchen remodel and makeover. From initial introductory meeting with Mary-Kathryn, to working with KDC kitchen designer Rebecca and their general contractor Mike, the entire project went seamlessly and finished on-time.

We loved working with Rebecca on the kitchen design. She really listened to our needs and offered several different design ideas and elements to fit our large family's needs. She also gave us a sense of the latest kitchen trends and provided fresh ideas that helped make our kitchen unique and truly ours. The 3D CAD modeling Rebecca created helped visualize all aspects of the kitchen remodel and made us comfortable with tweaks before final design lock. We were so amazed with her 3D kitchen rendering that at our request she also redesigned our pantry, wine bar area and even our mudroom.

Working with KDC's general contractor Mike was a breath of fresh air. He was always responsive to our concerns, questions and needs, and always kept us informed of important project milestones. He was consistently onsite to coordinate and followup on contractors' work and made sure every aspect of the kitchen, wine bar and mudroom projects didn't miss a beat. We also had Kitchen Design Concepts re-surface and re-stain our entire downstairs and upstairs hardwood floors, which Mike personally oversaw (Rebecca helped pick floor stain color). His detailed knowledge of our projects, and responsiveness and friendly demeanor made working with Mike a joy and pleasure. We also liked KDC's hired contractors, particularly the cabinet install guys, painters and counter top contractors.

Our kitchen remodel was a complete tear down of the old and rebuild of a new kitchen which included all new kitchen cabinets, removal of butler's pantry in place of a complete redesigned pantry and creation of separate coffee room, all new kitchen appliances, new kitchen island, beautiful new counter tops and one of kind backsplash. It is now our most favorite room in the house. The mudroom was completely redone to make it more usable for our large family and our wine bar area transformed. KDC has a motto “no regrets” and we can say without a doubt we have none…we love our new spaces. I can't say enough good things about Kitchen Design Concepts, their work and their people. Through their PROCESS, you get to KNOW Mary Katherine and the entire KDC team! I feel very safe with everyone coming into my house. They work with the same vendors, some for years, and it's excellent quality of workmanship! BONUS! Some familiar faces from 2015! They treat your home with the UTMOST respect and clean every day! I am almost jealous of the other reviews. This whole time I thought I was their MVP client! But you will be treated as such as well!

The Design: Bravo LANE! She followed my “style”; actually, I have none, so the mandate was to be a steward for the next homeowner, tee hee! She heard me, perhaps interpreted what I was actually saying, and then blew me away translating it to a design! Everything I loved, and also, she made some suggestions I would never have thought of, and updated my bathroom from bad 80’s to 2024 and beyond.

The Design Agreement: Mary Katherine for her management consulting background for this! This part actually gets me excited. With a very detailed process and plan of action, you will know from the start what your project will encompass. Of course some small items or customer-driven changes, but for the most part, the design and the entire work flow is laid out before demo starts!

The Work: One word: MIKE! He is the “general contractor” and coordinates everyone - and they all work so well together! KDC also harnesses technology - a big change from 2015 to 2024 is the APP! From the start of the project, I could see the timeline and items checked off as they were completed. An update each day, sometimes with pictures as well! In my case, which is on the extreme side, I was gone for nearly the entire project, and when in town I was busy at work; I could not have done this project without Mike, plus Lane, MK, and the entire KDC team working according to the preplanned scheduled design.

The finished projects: The bathroom all look spectacular, and function is amazing. I honestly can say it is both WOW and designed so appropriate for my house! The kitchen cabinets, kitchen island, and fixtures and hardware still feel fresh and current 10 years later! One would design the same kitchen today! The pictures in Houzz and other reviews – they aren’t the best of KDC, but the standard of this company – I can say my kitchen and bathroom are just as amazing!!

Kitchen Design Concepts did a major remodel of our kitchen and living areas on our first floor last year.

Their planning process is second to none. They delivered on everything they told us to expect and got us back into our house a couple of weeks early and on budget. The results are just beautiful and we haven't had one moment of buyers remorse.

When one of my closest friends and her husband had their kitchen+ remodeled by KDC, I watched their process very closely to see what their results and experience would be. Like everyone else, I've heard so many horror stories of remodel/renovation nightmares that I was determined not to live through that if there was any way I could help it.

My husband and I had been dreaming about updating our kitchen and public living areas for 17 years. Even though we loved it, we wanted to bring our 1978 home into this century and open it up. Without the nightmares.

I read every KDC review on Houzz during my research of companies. The reviews were consistent with what my friend had shared with me about her experience with KDC. After our first conversation, we felt very comfortable moving forward and we have zero regrets about our choice.

Every project has its bumps and ours did have a couple. I can't say enough that the way that those bumps were handled were far better and above what I've heard about with other companies. And because of that, I know that I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again to do another project. They take great care of their clients and work very hard to make sure that you're happy with...
