Southern Maid Donuts — Restaurant in Dallas

I’ve always loved Southern Maid donuts. I would stop by between 4:30 am - 5 am at the one on Continental because it’s right down the street from the job. The parents recently retired and I guess the “children” took over. Things have been a disaster since. I could always count on the case being full with their product. I could always count on calling in my order and it being ready when I got there. The display case NEVER has anything in it. Nothing is ever ready anymore. I went this morning and the guy says he only has tacos and burritos ready. How are you a donut shop and you have no donuts? That is unacceptable! This is the fifth time. The first time I asked for an apple fritter. It was 5:25 in the morning. They open at 4:30. He told me it would be at least another 45 minutes to a hour! Like what!? Another time he said he hadn’t made any cake donuts yet! It’s just a continuous cycle and I’m over it. They should have left the little Hispanic lady and her daughter because they would never! They were always nice and food was always ready to be sold and served! Another thing, the donut recipe must’ve changed because they definitely don’t taste the same. My coworkers are complaining about that as well. Also, the pig in a blanket dough is not the same as it was. Way too much bread now! I think I’m done with them. I refuse to keep passing up my job to get disappointed and leave empty handed because they can’t get there early enough to have their...

I visit this place early in the morning doing the week.in my way to work.I walk in order. Then a women come in walk to the back off the counter didn't wash her hand just started to put donut 🍩 in the box.I ask the cashier she come in don't wash her hand.I ask for the manager.This heifer was the manager. Used to come here a lot and while it took a while, service was good and it’s family owned. Now they have the mom in the front, and she’s really rude, doesn’t put your order in right, then when you don’t get your food, she says “well I didn’t charge you for that”. So after waiting 20+ minutes for a taco or iced coffee you don’t even get it. Horrible service and they can’t handle their menu. They need to downsize or hire...
