Lands' End — Local services in Dallas

My fiancé and I visited this store for the first time today! My mother wore a lot of Lands' End clothing during my childhood and I was excited to see a physical storefront so close to us. My fiancé, who is a dark-skinned man, entered the store alone while I stopped in the Whole Foods next door to use their restroom and buy some juice. When I entered, as a light-skinned lady, there was a salesperson hanging around his vicinity, just.. watching him. Very attentive customer service, yes? They backed off pretty quickly once they saw I was with him, and he then confided to me his discomfort with how he was being followed around the store and interacted with. Every time he picked something up, they felt the need to interject and comment about the item he was handling. I have worked in clothing retail, and I recognized their behavior not as good "customer service" but as how a salesperson treats you when they are suspicious of you and trying to make it known that they are watching you. This is an effective tactic against thieves; they typically feel uncomfortable and leave the store, since they are being watched so closely they can't possibly get away with anything. However, my fiancé is not a thief. He was simply a dark-skinned person trying to shop. We made some small purchases and left, but I am very disappointed with how the salespeople here treated my fiancé, and unfortunately, I doubt we will be visiting this store again. To anyone working at the store who may be reading this - just because someone is dark does not mean they are a thief! I recently needed to get some new pieces to add to my wardrobe since I’ve lost some weight. I was BLOWN AWAY by the quality of the clothing at Land’s End! It was my first time experiencing Land’s End and I was very pleased with my purchase! The moment I walked in the store the staff was very helpful with finding what I was looking for. They showed me all the options and even helped me find universal pieces that would work together in any combination. The staff was really helpful in the dressing room letting me know what did or didn’t work. They even went and got different sizes if something didn’t fit right! The quality of Lands End clothing has declined significantly in recent years. They used to be my go to for work wear but the last 3 times I've ordered either the colors fade after just a few washes or the sizing is inconsistent. The last order took a week to process, I tried to cancel the order twice while it was still in the processing stage but they shipped it anyway so now I have to go out of my way to return something that i shouldn't have received and then wait 10 days to have the funds credited back to my account.
