Belk — Local services in Dalton

In the midst of transitioning from one state to another. Needed shoe's and wanted to check out the sales at Belk's. So my attire is just what it is. I figure I'm shopping for shoe's, not attending a galleria.

Go in and was looking at the shoes on clearance, didn't see a price available, so I politely alerted the sales rep for that department, "excuse me ma'am," she looked at me and kept walking.

I waited until she was at her desk area again, walked over, inquired about the prices for the shoe's, she stated the price was located somewhere on the box.🤷‍♀️ I asked about the clearance shoes, that's when she said that there's a price checker and pointed. And Yes I had to visually find it myself, no I was not asked if I needed help in finding anything.

At that point, instead of asking her anything else (because she was apparently bothered by me for whatever reason) I searched for someone else to help me. Found another sales rep who came straight to the shoes to see if the store had what I was looking for.

They didn't, so I left and contacted the Manager, informed her of the incident and she was very understanding and apologetic on behalf of what had happened! She offered to help me then and in the future if needed. At this point I was already outside...

I am a plus size woman and was looking for the plus size section. Not one sales person ever came and asked if they could help. It's like a maze in that store trying to find anything. The signs said clothes but that was it. They need another one that says plus size clothes and the arrow pointing to it. My boyfriend had to find someone to ask.

I decided to look for a pair of black ballet flats. I wear a size 6. Every pair I found I liked they did not have my size. If they had my size one shoe would be missing out of the size 6 shoes.

I also looked at the prices. Shoes would be $60 and these were simple plain shoes. The clothes are had buy 1 get 2 free. Regular shirts would be $50+ for one shirt. That was in the regular ladies clothing size. I can just imagine how much the clothes were in the plus size area.

I will stick with clothing stores like Walmart & Cato. Also Bargain Hunt has a good selection with much better prices. Cato has great end of season...

Went to get some dress shoes for my Husband and stood in line at shoe dept.for my turn. Asked the lady if she can help me find the other dress shoe and she rolled her eyes and went over to where my family was to find and told them They can look for it..That it wasn't her job and she was alone..Now with that being said..No body was in line at this point only me waiting .She came back to me and told me I could of done that myself.I told her I couldn't find it and some places have extras in the back..Complete attitude and Rude comments from her..My Husband and I work retail and have never had this done to us..Get a new person in there.Im sure this isn't her first rude attitude...
