Disappointed by One Waiter, Saved by Another
I recently visited Juicy Seafood in Dalton, GA and had a frustrating experience with one of the waiters (Cesar). There was a special advertised — a free drink with the purchase of any pound of food — and when I asked about it, the waiter claimed he had no idea what I was talking about. When I politely asked him to check, he rudely told me the manager wasn’t there, which I know isn’t true. The manager (or owner) is always present.
When I pointed out the fine print stating “ID is required for alcoholic beverages,” he dismissed me and insisted the free drink only applied to fountain drinks, even though he had just said he didn’t know anything about the special. How can someone who doesn’t know of the promotion suddenly decide what is or isn’t included?
Customer service is part of the job, and arguing with a paying customer over something so small shows a real lack of professionalism. Whether the drink is $1 or $10, it’s the principle that counts. Cesar should be trained on current promotions and know how to communicate with customers respectfully.
If working in customer service is that miserable for him, perhaps it’s time to consider a different line of work. Knowing the current specials and treating customers with basic courtesy should be the bare minimum in any restaurant.
Side note: After that exchange, I’m fairly certain he asked to transfer our table to another server — and I’m glad he did. The second waiter was excellent. Ariana knew exactly what the promotion included, provided great service, and thanks to her, I did enjoy my free cocktail with my pound of shrimp. Her professionalism and attitude completely turned the experience around.
Juicy Seafood, please train your staff member, Cesar, better. I’ve enjoyed my meals here before, but this experience could have left a bad taste in my mouth — and it had nothing to do...
Read moreI had came with my friend who had brought her child, She had never been here before, so she went ahead and brought her child McDonald's just in case the child would not like the food. then we were charged 18% tip for bringing in that outside food .. I didn't mind tipping and I was going to tip 22% but it was the fact that we were charged without knowing and that was not disclosed to us when we came in.. our server tipped themselves 18% automatically which I only noticed because the receipt said extra tip.. bc that was not disclosed to me i would have tipped extra im glad i caught it before i did. I also think it's weird that it wasn't my child because i don't have children Who had the McDonald's but I was still charged 18%.. even tho our tickets were separate. our server then asked us if we had seen the signs upfront which when we were leaving, We tried to look for said signs and we could not find them. I should've spoken with the manager to clear everything up, but I just let it be what it was, but I just honestly think that it's crazy and everyone with picky children should be pre-warned about bringing food in here. They do have children food options, but I've also heard about people not separating the seafood from chicken and people getting food poisoning from that, so my friend had already went and brought her 14 month old baby some McDonald's to avoid a case like that. not to mention someone was there spraying for pest so I can't even imagine what was going on in the kitchen. I just honestly think our server should disclose that as soon as we sit down instead of just automatically taking money out of our accounts without letting us know first. is not the fact that I didn't wanna tip. It's just the fact that I was automatically tip for something that wasn't even about me. not to mention my tip was going to be in cash but they...
Read moreThis was absolutely a horrible experience! What was expected? An hour wait. That was completely fine. We killed time at the mall. What was not expected? Well I asked for Diet Coke for my 5 yr old the waitress said okay, I then asked for sweet tea they did not have which is okay I got water because surely they had it. My husband asked for coke and the waitress tried to tell us that they call Diet Coke and Regular Coke the same which it is definitely not. I asked another waitress what drinks they had and she had told me Pepsi products. Then OUR waitress asked for appetizers. I asked for a house salad and they did not have it. She never brought us a bucket with utensils. We also received cans and cups of ice and poured our own drinks from CANS. They didn’t have blue crab but they did take off a discount for that out of the party meal. They charged my 5 yr old for an adult meal ($14). Server just did not ring it up right. The other server fixed it as well. The prices were intended to be high because it’s seafood. The server did not know how to approach the table. She came up to my husband and said “what’s up?”. She was just completely rude and awkward. They were not ready to open and should have waited til people were properly trained and they had enough of everything because everyone has been waiting for this place. I am thankful for the long blonde hair server who helped us so much and was trying to help our server out. The guy (manager) I’m assuming was also super nice! The food was DELICIOUS. We will be back after a few months in hopes that they can get there stuff together. $270 for 4 adults and 1 child after...
