I went to Willie's one day last week to get the fish sandwich which I love and some of their yummy fresh cut fries. Since it was posted on Facebook a while back that they would be bringing their fresh cut fries back, I was really looking forward to those. My hubby and daughter were in the mood for something different so we picked mine up and headed to where they wanted to eat which was just a few minutes down the road. I was excited to dig into my sandwich and fries. Much to my surprise (disappointment), they were not fresh cut fries. I was pretty upset that I had paid $3.50 for the fries I received. The fact that they were frozen crinkle fries wasn't really the bad part. The bad part is that the grease was old tasting and to make that even worse, they had cooked the fries once and then reheated them by dropping them in the bad grease again. That was very disappointing because the taste was so bad I could not eat them so I threw my $3.50 (plus tax) in the trash. I called the restaurant to let them know. The young man who answered the phone said he would let the owner know but I'm not sure he did so I thought I would put it out here. I would also like to add that since we discovered Willie's only a few months ago, we have driven 30 - 45 minutes several times because I was loving their food. I wanted to take the fries back and get my money back but hubby just wanted me to cut my losses and not go back so I guess we won't be going back and won't be bragging about Willie's to other people as we were doing before. Very...
Read moreI’m not one to typically rant but I’m hoping this gets the attention it needs for the problem to be fixed. Today my husband and I went to grab some burgers from Willie's Famous - Dalton, Georgia . We went through the drive thru and were immediately greeted with a rude attitude and someone who seemed like they didn’t want to be there, but I just ordered and let it go. I ordered a cheeseburger ONLY CHEESE MUSTARD AND KETCHUP and my husband ordered a Flamingo burger. I checked mine before we drove off and it was an all the way burger so I had my husband walk back up and have it fixed. When we told her what it was supposed to have on it she said well is there cheese mustard and ketchup on it? My husband said yes and she’s like well what’s the problem he then said well there’s onions tomatoes and lettuce on it. She said can you not just pick it off? He said what if we were allergic. She said well are you and he said no but this is not what we ordered can you just fix it? She said that’s stupid and then tells the cook to just pick it off. The cook apologized and remade it for us. As someone who works in a restaurant I am completely baffled at how we were treated and the fact food allergies were not taken seriously. Willie’s DO BETTER!! If you cannot have basic manners and hospitality you should not work with the public PERIOD! Now that we got home and my husband opened his it is not even the right burger😂 should have checked it before we left too. We...
Read moreMy original review, below, is still accurate. However, the catfish sandwich is no longer catfish. Theu have changed to another fish that contains bones. They are mostly soft bones that can be swallowed, if you're ok with that, but some are not going to feel good in the roof of your mouth.
Still a good place to eat, with plenty of good options, but I'm taking a star back because it's getting old having to keep finding something new when they change what I like .
-Original review- I've been eating here, off and on, for years now. When it's good it's good, and it usually is. It's locally owned and operated though, so things tend to change. I really miss some of the bread and lunch meet from a while back. Lately the sub bread is too flaky for me; makes them hard to eat. No big deal though. Just found other things I like. They can get packed around lunch time, but they move people through at a pretty impressive speed, considering they are making this stuff on demand. Definitely worth checking out. Try the BBQ, a sub, a burger, and a fish sandwich before you decide if you like the place. My bet is, you'll like at least...
