If you’ve ever wanted to feel like a professional surfer and a kid at an ice cream parlor (Yes, the serve THRIFTY ICE CREAM) at the same time, Killer Dana is the place. I went in thinking I’d just grab some wax and maybe a leash. I walked out with enough surf supplies to start my own Baywatch reboot—plus an ice cream cone so good it should have its own spicolli fan club.
The staff are basically the hype squad you didn’t know you needed. They’ll make you feel like you’ve been part of the local salt creek surf scene for years, even if you’ve only ever surfed a YouTube tutorial on a costco foamer. I asked for board recommendations, and one guy named Matt with a six pack explained it so clearly I was halfway convinced I should compete in the next surf competition (don’t worry, I didn’t).

It was hurtful to be on the receiving end of that behavior and him purposefully misunderstanding me and being rude...not something I would want other people to go through. I was really disappointed because I chose this shop due to the good reviews online, so I want to offer my two cents here in case it may help someone else or validate...
Read moreJust in town for some surf. Stopped by Killer Dana's new location. Having frequented their original location for over 30 years, I was blown away by their new location. Such a wide array of quality core surf products, accessories, clothing, books, memorabilia, epic photos, and ice cream; all in a large, comfortable, easy going space. And when I say quality, I still have and wear my.long and short sleeve Killer Dana t-shirts, and wide whale chords . . . each over 30 yrs old. I also rented an excellent short board. Two of their standout associates, Mike and Bodi, were very helpful. Just added the awards plaques Pic . . ....
