LOFT — Local services in Danbury

I have been shopping at this Loft for well over 10 years. I love their clothes and for the most part employees have always been very friendly and welcoming.

Unfortunately I was not made to feel welcome in their store the last time I made a purchase. I have been a teacher for 14 years and have always used the Loft teacher discount. Employees have applied this discount to every purchase I have ever made- full price or discounted items. It is what keeps me going back to shop for work clothes. The last time I went in I was told that I couldn’t apply my discount because I was purchasing something that was already on clearance and that I’m “lucky” because it’s a “great price”. I was told that Loft employees don’t even get such good discounts, which I find very hard to believe. The employee even withheld my receipt while she kept telling me I should appreciate the discounted price on the item of clothing I was purchasing because it was a fair price. I had to ask for my receipt twice before she handed it over.

I did not know LOFT carried extended sizes. I just happened to be passing the store and caught that detail out of the corner of my eye.

I went in and was pleasantly surprised at the offerings. For once, plus style does not have to look like I'm wearing my grandmother's quilt. I never, ever shop full price so I went right over to clearance. I bought a blouse and winter vest at an additional 50% off clearance price which came to something like $25.

I went home to check out the online offerings and was so pleased to find over 400 items on sale and at a deep discount. I ended up opening up a card to get the extra 15%discount & ended up buying 21 items for $240. Not a bad haul.

I went to the loft at the Danbury Mall and a young, blonde haired woman greeted me while she was moving clothes in the front. While she was workings, I overheard her cursing loudly, complaining about the store and other customers and it made my experience very uncomfortable. I didn't feel it was an appropriate way for an employee to behave so publicly and really deterred me away from wanting to return.
