I wish I could leave zero stars. This company prides itself on it's customer service and quality repairs. Let me just say that anytime we have had to contact Douglass Appliance, we have been met with an incredibly rude female on the phone, the most recent time coming to mind, specifically. We purchased brand new inserts to our electric stove and needed a qualified, Jenn-Air repair service to replace the switches. When we were finally able to put in a request for service, the owners came to our home and first critiqued on the quality of all of our kitchen appliances, saying that we shouldn't expect miracles because our stove is "a dinosaur", despite the fact that Jenn-Air still makes replacement parts and inserts. It then took three trips to install four brand-new switches. To add insult to injury, they did not purchase the correct knobs because they don't fit. When we commented that the knobs didn't fit correctly, one of the owners took a piece of tissue paper and jammed it into the knob, stating that it was the only way to make it turn. He also claimed that this method was the recommended repair by Jenn-Air. Now we have brand new inserts on a stove that doesn't work properly. I do not recommend this company to anyone with an appliance older than two years. Read moreI couldn’t be more pleased with my experience with this store. I will go over quickly the problem I was having. I live in apartment and the washing machine won’t spin or drain. The apt complex told me it would be two months for a new washer. I work two full time jobs and decided to try to fix it myself. I YouTubed the brand and washer and the problem. The YouTube technician gave the first possibilities to fixing it. I checked the belt and it was slightly frayed but still in working condition. I took the capacitor out and went to Douglas to see if they could see if was working. The incredibly informative and kind employee named Melissa went out of her way to check the capacitor. She then looked up the model and told me to check the pump. I did that but it was fine, I called and she then told me the next step was the hood lock, it was fine. I called back, I told her what I thought the next problem may be and she agreed. Now, mind you, she had no obligation to help me, she was not receiving any payment for helping me. I’m in an apartment trying to fix a problem they won’t. So, there was no sales opportunity. She went way above and beyond to help someone. Well, when all think that we are at a loss in this society, there is not. We have people like Melissa that go out of there way to help the average Joe just trying to get by. Read moreI would like to share an outstanding experience I recently had with Douglass Appliances. Our 27- year-old Maytag dryer gave out and, after all this time, I relied heavily on it. Feeling concerned and dejected, I called Douglass, and was reassured, even though my dryer was very old, the parts were still in stock. Furthermore, it just took one day for Joe Douglass to come to our house. Within 10 minutes, he confirmed the motor and belt were shot, and he quickly replaced them.
