This is hands down the BEST butcher shop and staff around!! This shop has a huge variety of meats, sausages, specialty sandwiches and great grab fully stocked. For starters the meats they have are exceptional quality and are matched by no others. Not only do they have an amazing meat selection, but they make the most INCREDIBLE sausages I have ever seen and tasted. Every week they have a new lineup of 9 sausages featuring their mind-blowing creative ideas. My favorite ones they have done include a collaboration with using actual Kanes Donuts! The bacon maple sausage was out of this world and the flavor is exactly what you would expect. Finally, are the sandwiches they make. They make a rotating sandwich for every day of the week (except Saturdays North Shore Beefs only) . These sandwiches are again a testament of their creativity! The combinations of flavors and ingredients they use create a top-notch sandwich. My favorite sandwich has got to be the North Shore Roast Beef which is only done Saturdays and is walk in only. This is the BEST you will get when it comes to an NSB there is NO argument. The sandwich you get is well worth the wait, which honestly moves along quick once you think about the work that goes into making this sandwich. The onion roll is toasted to perfection, the roast beef is seasoned perfectly and cooked to a rare tenderness then loaded onto the roll, American cheese on the bottom, mayo on the top portion of the roll then James River BBQ smothered on the beef. There is a wait for the NSB, but it is to be expected with a sandwich made to order vs having them premade. All things considered, the shop has great processes in place to move the line and is able to make 150-200 sandwiches along with helping customers get any meat they want. The shop is small so they do only allow a certain amount of people in however on these cold winter days I cannot thank them enough for allowing more people to wait inside on Saturdays. It is a small shop, but they are still able to help everyone seamlessly while customers who have placed their order do not have to wait out in the cold. This shows how they truly care about their customers. Last but not least a thank you to the hard working owners (Lisa and Warren) of this shop and their awesome employees!! Everyone is extremely welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. I have had interactions with all of them and have nothing but the best to say. Thank you for all the sacrifices all of you have made to make this shop what it is (GREATNESS). I cannot wait to see what...
Read moreI seen posting about this place on FB Seacoast Eats page and was siked to try it cause everything looked amazing on fb, I went over board and bought more then I should have anticipating great food. I was kinda disappointed that I could only order the sandwich of the day and there were no other sandwich choices so I got the sandwich of the day the NASHVILLE 🔥 HOT CHICKEN baked, with mayo, lettuce and pickles so lets start with that, the container had someone elses name on it crossed out with my name written on next to it, the sandwich was cold and the batter was soggy, the sauce wasnt hot at all I'd say pretty mild. Hers were I went overboard, I bought 5 food containers out of the cooler including the following Buffalo Chicken Salad, Chipotle Slaw, Korean Chicken Salad, Caesar Pasta Salad & Ultimate Mac & Cheese. Itried a couple bites of each and they will all be going in the trash, 1st thing, I didnt look when I bought these but I noticed when I got home that the expiration date on the Chipotle Slaw & Caesar Pasta Salad is dated for tomorrow, the rest expire the dayday after tomorrow. I can tell you without a doubt that the Caesar Pasta Salad is already expired and Slaw likely has expired too. The buffalo chicken salad and korean chicken salad are pretty similar and didnt seem very fresh, chicken is getting rubbery. The ultimate mac & cheese was just awful. I think it should not only have a posted expiration date but a prep date marked also. I hate giving a review like this because Im a big believer in supporting small business but my experience here was not good at all.
RESPONSE to their reply: I didn't try to order a roast beef, I asked about the Smoked Turkey Chipotle sandwich, I wasn't annoyed or I wouldnt have spent $64.86 slandering me on a public forum only validates my review, pretty poor business practice, and since you responded in such manner Im not going to bother contacting you cause it wont resolve anything, Im just giving a heads up to people that may have high...
Read moreIt's rare to find a business that's so unbelievably passionate about their craft. Their daily sandwiches are immensely creative and delicious. Their Saturday roast beef sandwiches are so popular that they have a line out the door every week - and it's well worth the wait. When asked why they don't make them every day, they respond that they're a whole animal butcher and it's not sustainable to source that much of one cut of an animal.
More importantly, their butchers are solidly knowledgeable and excited to give you exactly what you're looking for, or give you advice if you don't know what that is yet. On one visit we asked if they had any pig jowl and the butcher brought out an entire head and carved the jowl out for us. On another visit we asked for jowl again, but they had the jowl curing in the case to make guanciale! So we got some jowl bacon they had in the case instead and we were not disappointed.
Their dry aged steaks are gorgeous and totally worth coming back for - we asked about them and were told they weren't ready yet and to come back in a month. We went back a month later and they cut us a mouth-watering bone-in rib eye to our specified thickness and fat content (we had a choice of the leaner or fattier end). After cutting it open, the butcher held it up for the rest of the staff to gaze upon its glory.
In a world where most "butcher" shops don't sell much more than marinated steak tips wrapped in cellophane, this place stands out as a shining beacon in the crowd. It's not cheap, but worth every penny for the quality, as well as supporting a small business focused on...
