Back in March I started a leg sleeve with Edwin. He was pumped to take on the challenge and so was I. The first session went great, other than he had a consultation scheduled in the middle of my day long appointment, and we started almost 2 hours late. But the work he did certainly made up for it! Fast forward to my second session, he asked me if we could start early in order to get done earlier. I was fine with that. I drove 2 hours to the shop, to stand outside in the rain for 90 minutes and he never showed.

He messaged me apologizing saying something came up and he forgot to notify me- but that he will open ANY Saturday up for me if I’m willing, and get a few free hours. Of course I was fine with that, I tried being understanding of the situation.

We are now almost 2 months passed my missed appointment, and I haven’t heard from him. I’ve reached out several times. It really is too bad, it’s a great shop, great vibes, great art. But Edwin’s scheduling or lack there of is the deciding factor for me to find another artist to finish my leg. My low rating is for the lack of communication/scheduling/ and how it makes me feel like the art i want isn’t worth his time. Now I have to have two artists on one project. hopefully the transition is seamless and not too noticeable.

If you have a one day thing, don’t let it stop you from going. If you have a long project, make sure you have a date before you leave, and be ready to possibly sit and wait for an hour before...

I came here recently for my first tattoo and words fall short for how happy I am with my decision! This was a phenomenal experience. I’d been sitting on my design with on and off research for the better part of a decade. My top priorities were 1. An artist that would be welcoming, understanding of a first time canvas, have a calming vibe, make me feel comfortable, and execute my design flawlessly (impeccable line work that meets my standards is hard to find on social media lol); and 2. A clean and welcoming studio that was local to me and felt fairly priced while also delivering top notch artistry. Sounds like a tall order, but after getting several word of mouth recommendations to check out North Shore Tattoo, I took the leap. Jimmy Mercer delivered my dream with both precision and a witty sense of humor. I am not lying when I say the vibe check passed with flying colors. You can tell everyone in the shop is passionate about their craft and very personable. I felt so at ease from walking in to walking out of the shop. Barron is Amazing! I was looking to get an American traditional tattoo cover up of on my back. I wasn’t having any luck finding an artist willing to do the cover up without having 2-3 laser tattoo removal sessions. I found Barron on instagram and didn’t hesitate one bit and was stoked about wanting to take it on without any laser. He was amazing to work with from day one. We had a consultation and he designed a beautiful back piece that I will forever cherish. His professionalism and talent is top notch. There are a lot of shops out there, but none as first class as NSTC! The shop is spotless and beautifully decorated. It’s a work of art in itself with all the beautiful flash and artwork! All the artists in staff are all hilarious, friendly and amongst most talented group of tattoo artists I have ever met. I can’t say enough great things about them and have already sent a couple referrals. I’m looking forward to having some more work done this Spring and highly recommend them.
