PLEASE READ My friend and I came to this Dillard’s looking for bras and some other items and we grabbed what we wanted to try on and immediately multiple employees were bombarding us asking if we needed help. I knew exactly what they were doing because I have previously worked in retail before; they clearly thought we were stealing. We let them know we didn’t need any help and we were doing fine but they continued to ask us up to 10 times with many different employees. When we were finally leaving the fitting room a security guard was waiting outside the fitting room! Again, I have worked in retail before and this was never allowed! We continued to a different part of the store with the items that fit us after trying them on, and we heard employees and the security guard talking about us; what we were wearing and where we were going. Another lady came up behind us and asked once again if we need help. Finally I turned around and said “No thank you, we are not stealing.” and she was immediately upset saying “I never said you were!” so I followed up with “Well we know that you think we are because everyone and the security guard is following us.” and she made up an excuse as to why they were following us. Then again another employee came up asking if we wanted her to take our stuff to the counter and I said no that’s fine yet she persisted. I was then very annoyed and asked if they could hold it over night and she said no. So then I told her just take it but I won’t be back because that was very rude. We wanted to buy these items but apparently we aren’t allowed to look around the store after they make a false accusation! I don’t think I will ever be back to that Dillard’s location! The situation was handled very wrongly and I am hurt that we were accused and almost chased around the store for...
Read moreUncomfortable experience. I had went to Dillards to shop for a new winter coat. I had started browsing around with my two friends and soon noticed an older lady named Mary start to watch us as we shopped, which I know is pretty normal they’ll usually ask if you need help finding anything however, this lady didn’t. She kept getting closer and just observing us not saying anything or even smiling. We started to feel really uncomfortable and unwelcome. I was trying on a vest and accidentally dropped the hanger and just figured I’d pick it back up when I was done trying on the vest. Mary came over and finally asked me if I needed help with anything and I said no thank you i’m just browsing she said okay and told me to pick the hanger up. I told her that I would as soon as I was done trying on the vest she then started to insist that I pick the hanger up right away because of covid and how it gets spread? and I had asked her what do you mean? covid on the carpet? and she then said that she wasn’t trying to be mean that she has grandkids too?? she just wasn’t making any sense and then I seen her reach over to touch my shoulder I backed away because I felt uncomfortable, she still reached over and touched my shoulder despite me obviously backing away from her. Which is ironic because she was just saying how covid is so contagious. I’m not sure if her goal was to get us out of the store but she did just that. Unusual for...
Read moreMy aunt and I are going to try to make it out to this Dillard's. She moved here from Las Vegas and asked me to find her a Dillard's store because she loves their merchandise I live in Dekalb Illinois and she moved here to Northbrook Illinois it will be quite a journey since she's just turned 85 I'd need to run up and pick her up and then bring her out to Moline but perhaps we'll find a day to make an excursion because Dillard's is such an exceptional store and she always finds things she loves there so I hope and pray that the virus dissipates where that we get a vaccine it works so that we can run around having a girls day out shopping at the store my auntie loves. Very glad that Dillard's is there and Hope but it will still be there when we can make that trip! Especially since we've lost Carson pirie Scott here in DeKalb we have no place to buy things like Clinique or the quality of clothing that I understand I will find...
