In these struggling times for all Small Business I try to do my Part to help keep my local restaurant's afloat. As a 20 year Customer of the Family on West Kimberly Rd Davenport, I experienced, for the 1st time tonight, how Rude and unappreciative the Owner PETE is. I ordered Well Done Fried Catfish ( dont like it slimy) and for the 1st time in many years, the fish came undercooked. The other persons in my party agreed. I showed the Waitress the slimy fish. She took the plate and I assume went to get a Manager. No one came and No new fish. I sat there starving while others enjoyed their meals. Upon leaving waitress presented me with a bill for the Lettuce for $8.00. She said, "Sorry, I was told to charge you for the lettuce". We were like, WHAT!!! We had a hard time getting the attention of a Manager. Finally, after flagging down someone, Owner PETE said, "there was nothing wrong with the fish" and I could Eat elsewhere. I said myself and many members of my family have been loyal customer of your establishment for more than 20 years and this is how you show appreciation for my business. He said"I have never seen you before". Our party chuckled and all said" we have been coming here 20 years". Had I known PETE was this type of person, I would have discontinued patronage at his Business a long time ago .He will not see another $ from my Family. Mr PETE you lost a lot of business as we have gathered 10-12 people in our parties at your restaurant on countless occasions. All because of Your Rudeness and audicity to charge me for lettuce and basically telling me to get lost. It sounds like you have plenty of money in the Bank and have not suffered any loss from the Pandemic. Good For You! From a Past Loyal Customer you have a Nice Holiday. You have your Cake and...
Read moreI've been going here for over 30yrs. My daughter and I decided to get dinner before our movie we were very disappointed in the food and service. We have never had bad of either before.
Our waitress was disconnected it seemed from her job. We ordered our food and when she brought out our salads it was a plate with lettuce and water as dressing. We couldn't eat it it was soggy and gross. We pushed our plates to the edge of the table. She ignored them. Helped the table behind us and then grabbed her tip money from the table next to us. Didn't even bother to ask what was wrong with the salad or take the plates.
After what seemed forever she brought us or dinner. I ordered a whole catfish broiled it came out on a plate saturated in liquid with a side cup of broccoli. I've never had soggy broiled catfish. It was gross. My daughter ordered a beef shish kebab she was disappointed it didn't come out on the sick, but started to dig in. Her meat was under cooked and others were over cooked. Her roll that came with the meal was hard, she asked for another one and it was a completely different roll with seeds in it. It was also hard.
We finally got the manager to come over who I've never seen before and also noticed the menu was different, which I'm fine with. Just make sure your staff is doing their job and is the cooks. Everything was awful. We left more hungry then going in.
I hope in the future to try again and...
Read moreWe ate there tonight, we eat breakfast there on Sundays, it is kind of hit and miss with the service, but tonight was the worst. They don’t know the difference between white chicken, if this is a Greek restaurant their definition of white chicken is different from those of us from the US and google. They charged additional and I tossed half the chicken because I don’t like dark meat. They were unwilling to correct it, arguing with me and even charged me for it. The management staff who are always the ones standing off to the side by the register are rather rude, probably the reason they don’t interact with customers unless they have to. I also waited the entire meal, actually I am still waiting for my salad dressing. I love to support small local business, but it is hard when they are rude, and unhelpful. You need to hold yourself to the same standards as a large chain if you want people to frequent your establishment. If I was at any other restaurant, they would have said let’s get you the right chicken, here is our definition of white meat for the future, or at least said I am sorry for the confusion, and not argue about it and be condescending like the male manager, who may...
