BUYER BEWARE I purchased an art portfolio folder yesterday. No one said anything to me at the time of purchase. An orange slip of paper was stapled to my receipt which I did not look at when I received the receipt. The portfolio folder was not the right size. I went to return it today, one day later. Apparently, the orange slip of paper informed me that the store only gives store credit or exchange; there are no straight-out refunds. I complained. The clerk called the manager. The manager basically said, "That's store policy." What???? This is the 21st century. I will never shop at this store again. I will drive the seven miles to Woodland to shop...

I have taken all the art work I want framed to The Paint Chip for more than 15 years. They are really collaborative, paying special attention to the colors and feel of the work I've brought in and good at incorporating my own ideas. Only once was I unhappy with the work and the owner immediately stepped in, worked with me, and redid the job. It turned out that what I decided on cost more than the original job, but she didn't charge me for it; in fact, she gave me a discount when I paid the rest of the cost. Must respond to the reviewer who complained about parking and prices; WELCOME TO DAVIS! Commercial real estate prices are exorbitant, and are paid by small family businesses in the pricing structure. Large corporate businesses have the support of the parent company. Re parking, the whole downtown is about 4-5 blocks square. Might I suggest you bike, or walk from your parking spot.
