Stop-N-Save Food Inc — Local services in Dayton

I work a block away and have shopped here twice to stock up on snacks and food for my job. I bought a few items the last time I visited including a gallon of milk, which I'll admit I should have checked the date on it first. Got back to work, poured a glass of milk, went to take a drink and notice it was chunky. Checked the date and it had expired 08/31/2016 (it's currently 09/03/2016).

I went back to exchange the gallon, figuring there wouldn't be an issue. The man I spoke too (older, thick accent, seemed to be a manager) told me that my situation couldn't have happened because he had no milk with the expiration date that my milk had. I told him he was wrong, and that I need a new gallon of milk. He continued to argue and I said, "look, you sold me a faulty product, fix it."

We walked back to the refrigerator with the milk, I looked and saw at least two more gallons with the same expiration date as my milk on it so the man was either mistaken or lying.

Here's the icing on the cake, HE PUT MY EXPIRED AND OPEN CONTAINER OF MILK BACK ON THE SHELF AND LEFT IT THERE AFTER WE HAD FINISHED.

Thankfully though I have a new gallon of non-expired milk. Be aware of product quality if you choose...

What a coincidence. I am another legal ADA service dog user. I was also denied access to this store. As the proprietor would not politely discuss the requirements of my situation in person either, I figured we'd have to do it on the internet. How annoying! I may be disabled, but I have standards. I expect both access and common courtesy with my groceries.

I cannot, however, legally drive and so I must depend on readily accessible shopping for my needs. The service dog and I will need to cycle on over to Gem City Market to legally acquire some accessible tortillas.

I am so grateful for this store. This is the ONLY grocery store that we have in downtown.... I just wish it was open for a few hours on Sundays. There are so many people who depend on this store.... People from the Biltmore.. The Wilkenson... The YWCA... the s apartments by the riverscape... All the loft apartments.... it is an old store. But the people who own it are the nicest... Sweetest people .... always willing to help. I love this store. Can't wait till it opens today so I can go get some coffee... Creamer... And sugar. Thank you for...
