I went to the store to pick up some groceries and walked by the food stand in the back. It was close to 6:00 PM, so I assumed they were closing since the two ladies behind the counter were cleaning, and the only food left was already packed in to-go boxes at a discounted price. I figured it was whatever they had left for the day that they were trying to sell.
As I was looking at the options, I noticed one of the ladies behind the counter staring at me with an upset expression. I wasnât sure why, since I wasnât going to order anythingâthere wasnât much left besides the ready-to-go meals. As I started walking away, I remembered I had food at home and decided to put back the rice with pernil I had picked up.
The moment I put it back, one of the women behind the counter started raising her voiceânot directly at me, but indirectlyâsaying something along the lines of, âAll I did was grab the food, toss it around, and then put it back.â I immediately turned around and asked, âExcuse me?â Her response was, âYeah, after you toss around the food, youâre just gonna throw it back here.â
Toss the food? All I did was place it in my basket and then change my mind. I wasnât about to start an argument with her, so I simply picked the food back up and told her, âIf it bothers you that much and you feel the food is ruined by my touch, Iâll just take it.â (It was leftover food from the day, priced at $5.99.)
What a terrible experience at this place. What really bothered me was her attitude. She could have said the same thing in a polite tone, and I probably would have reasoned with her. Instead, she chose to be rude and unprofessional. If she cannot treat customers with respect, she shouldnât be working there. We all have stressful days at work, but thatâs no excuse for treating paying customers poorly. I sincerely hope the managers at this location address her behavior so she can improve...

Read moreGo there for the produce and meats. Great selection of fruits and veggies. Hot food, coffee and pastries ready to eat. The meat section is very diverse. I like to see a market that cuts and packages their own meats. However I have been staying from their chicken breasts. The chicken breasts used to be good. However lately they've been getting some very large ones, but the texture is stringy and tough. I've stopped buying their chicken breasts. That's my only complaint on the meats. Everything else such as the pork and beef has been great. Some of it is imported (Australia or Argentina) but thats ok. Argentina has a proud cattle industry.
Just about all of their sea food is imported. You can see the results of over-fishing in their fish stocks. Who eats parrot fish? From Indonesia? Tiny little parrot fish that I doubt would be legal to keep here in FL. Chinese farm raised Talapia. Just reporting on what they have. Not trying to be...
