Looking at other people’s positive reviews, it’s disappointing that on our visit, we had such a distasteful experience. My husband and I visited this restaurant a couple of years ago when we were on a trip to Georgia. Overall, our trip was pretty nice. The people there were very kind and so we did not expect to have a bad experience at this restaurant. To be honest, in regards to an overall great trip, this was probably the worst experience we had on our vacation. We were able to find parking pretty quickly. From what I can remember there was parking attached or nearby. That was not a very long walking distance. When we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by a very nice host. So far there were no signs that this would be a bad choice to eat at. The decor and ambience was also very nice. When we got our waiter, that is when things started to go downhill. I do not remember the waiter’s name, but I do believe he was Asian, and it sounded like he might have a Texas accent (this could be completely wrong, this was just what I was able to surmise.) the waiter, almost seemed annoyed, that he had to work with us, which honestly could have been for any number of reasons. If the rest of the dining experience went without incident, I wouldn’t even have needed to mention that the waiter seemed rude in the beginning, but unfortunately, the rest of the night didn’t get any better. When our food got to us, he literally stood over us the entire time we were eating, and would periodically leave if he had to help other people or do something else. We never told him that we needed help, nor did he ask if we’ve ever eaten Korean barbecue before. If he would have asked, we could have told him that we have eaten it hundreds of times and even though I don’t look like it I am half Asian. It was extremely bizarre. At one point I was just so uncomfortable by the way our dining was going I asked him “ are we allowed to use the grill ourselves or is it that staff are the only ones that can use the grills?” I ask this, because at other Korean barbecue restaurants we have gone to we’ve never had the staff cooking our food for us, we usually were the ones to do it ourselves. He proceeded to respond with something along the lines of “ for the most part, I have to stand here.” as soon as he said that I was completely checked out and did not want to give this restaurant a chance anymore. I asked a completely different question, and he answered with a response that showed me that he must have been concerned that we would leave without paying or something. I am still angry that my husband left him a tip. At one point when he stepped away, I looked around the restaurant, and I could see many people eating without their waiters standing over them, watching them, and I also saw People flipping their own food on the grill. What makes it even more annoying is towards the end of the night as it was getting busier he wasn’t able to stand and watch us eat for as long as he was before and at one point he let the food on our grill burn and I just took initiative and took the meat off of the grill, even though he told us earlier in our experience that he had to stand there, and insinuated that he had to man the grill. From the reviews, it looks like there are a diverse set of people that left really good reviews, that’s actually one of the reasons why we came to this restaurant. The night we came in wasn’t very diverse. To be perfectly honest, the diversity wouldn’t have mattered at all, and I probably wouldn’t even have noticed if we didn’t have such a strange waiter and dining experience. In regards to the food, I can’t even give a honest review because it wasn’t cooked to our liking, and he ended up, causing our food to burn at the end. Before this we had just went to the aquarium and we’re super excited to eat some Asian food because I had been missing it since we had started the trip. I usually take a lot of pictures of the food we eat, but I wasn’t able to for this visit for...
Read moreThe food was great. The "spicy" chicken didn't have any spice to it in my opinion. Today was my 1st time here my brother suggested this place to celebrate my birthday.
Place looks great. Food tasted good. Dining area is clean. Host was very welcoming.
My server Agustin R. Was ok. ( I can't confirm if that's his name or not. He Didn't mention it nor did he wear a name tag. I got it off of the receipt) he was NOT RUDE, but very distant for the price point and type of restaurant this is. I mentioned it was my 1st time here and it was my birthday and how I was unsure of the ordering process. He said choose either all you can eat or meal combos. Meal combos have a to-go option when you are done; all you can eat does not. He sat some plates and eating utensils down then left.
I asked what comes with the all you can eat, because all I saw was meat he said 2 sides (there were many delicious sides that came with it).
He placed the meat on the grill after setting it up and occasionally came to flip it and cut it up. I was too nervous to touch anything at 1st because I thought he was going to do everything since he kept coming back to flip the food and place it into the side warmers.
After looking around and following my brother's lead I started to reach for the food and eat. Not to mention they don't have bottomless drinks. I found that out once I got the bill.
I just wish the waiter would of explained things to make this a 5 star experience. I really didnt like having to stop him every few minutes to o ask a question about the food. I felt like I was being bothersome. I saw all these lovely reviews and photos of the food before going and I was really excited to go, but trying to figure things out as food came out took away from the experience.
Most places when you say "I've never eaten here so I'm not sure what to expect" they go into detail of how to order, What happens once you order, what they do, and what you the customer should expect, along with some ordering suggestions so your not spending 20min trying to decide on top of spending time figuring out what's what when the food arrives.
Explaining things makes the visit more enjoyable for new customers, and it makes it go by faster because we can laugh, eat, pay and head out without spending unnecessary time trying figure out what's...
Read moreZero stars if I could! D92 pretends to match the 9292 Duluth name - avoid at all costs. We visited on a Tuesday evening. It was completely empty, yet it took 30 minutes to finally begin receiving our meat. The employees did not wear aprons and their white shirts touched the raw meat on the tray as they leaned over the table. After our server put the brisket down onto the grill, he wandered once again into the back. The meat began to burn, so we had to take over the grilling ourselves. Upon returning, he was not apologetic at all and didn’t take over for grilling. He began to increasingly avoid us throughout the night, possibly because of the automatic gratuity – see below.
Our napkin dispenser was empty and we had to get napkins from another table ourselves because the servers were so inattentive and avoidant. When our banchan finally arrived, the peanuts were not good and the salad dressing lacked flavor. The grill was not properly oiled, continually spouting flames, and the hood ventilator did not work, filling the air with smoke and stinging our eyes. The bathroom doors were all left open.
The restaurant did not have egg, bean sprout, or mushroom grill sides. Our server told us that this was because they emphasized the meat quality instead. Unfortunately, the marinated meats lacked flavor and the other cuts were overall not high quality.
The absolute worst part of this was that at the end of this absurd meal, an automatic gratuity of 18% was added to our bill with no opportunity to dispute it. The menu stated that this was only applicable for the all-you-can-eat menu. There was no indication anywhere that this would be applied for non all-you-can-eat orders or for a party of 4. Between the wait, lack of service, and completely abandonment of responsibilities, what is there to tip for? Make the drive elsewhere in the area or head to Duluth. Do...
