Table for 2 for dinner I heard a new Rreal Taco location  just opened up in Decatur, so Wifey and I decided to go check it out. When we arrived, we noticed a shared parking lot right in front of the restaurant. It was the usual scan-and-pay setups, but the pricing was kinda weird—$7 for 30 minutes or $19 for three hours. No in-between. I went with the $7 option and hoped for the best. We walked past a few outdoor tables on our way in, but after a quick discussion, we agreed to sit inside. When we stepped in, there were a few people milling around the host stand, and it felt a little unorganized. Took a minute for anyone to greet us. Eventually, someone made eye contact and asked if we’d been helped. We said we were looking for a table for two inside, and they quickly seated us at a high-top. They pointed out a QR code for the drink and food menus. We scanned it, and I noticed there weren’t any beers listed—just a bunch of specialty cocktails and a nice lineup of Mexican favorites. We waited for a while, but no server came by. I caught eyes with the host again to let them know we hadn’t been helped yet. They gave me a quick nod like someone would be over soon. Eventually, our server showed up—and she had a great demeanor, bubbly personality.    I asked about the beer selection, and she let us know they don’t carry much in the way of American beers, just a few Mexican ones. Wifey ordered a Modelo, and I went with a Pacifico. She dropped off our drinks and came back to take our food order. Wifey went with three tacos—two al pastor and one pork belly. I got one chicken taco, one al pastor, and a side of rice and beans.   Food came out very fast. Wifey was happy with hers. I thought mine were good, not amazing—I just needed a little something, so I asked for some hot sauce to spice it up.  Oh, another point about the parking, as I was eating the half hour expired and I could not extend it. I had to get up, walk outside  and scan again for another $7. So parking was convenient but a bit of a pain. After dinner we left a little room for dessert. We shared a Tres Leches and it was delicious. It was a great treat to cap off the dinner. Overall, we enjoyed the ambiance, the food, and especially Leeanne, our server. She was clearly busy, running around nonstop, but had a great attitude when she interacted with us.

First time trying this place last night. I’ve been to another location and enjoyed myself so I thought I knew what to expect. The bar service from Rojo was great and he could not have helped the issues I experienced. The queso dip was barely warm, the picanha taco was raw in the middle, as if it wasn’t properly thawed or cooked. Picanha is to be served medium rare to medium but this was blue and both bartenders agreed. I thought the meat was just tough but it was actually raw in the middle. The al pastor lacked flavor and the shrimp taco I ordered after these two (because I didn’t finish them and was still hungry) was also bland and had two pieces of meat on it. The meat in a seafood taco was the last straw for me and I also brought this issue to my bartender’s attention. He asked the other bartender to come over and they both spoke to the manager, who never came to speak with me. One person stared at me the entire time I described the issue to the bartenders, not sure who she was. The bartender came back and offered me a slice of cake, which I declined. They have some serious issues to work out and I won’t be back for anything more than a drink, if at all. Serving undercooked meat and meat in a seafood taco tells me all I need to know about how things are being handled in the kitchen and is not safe for a person who does not eat meat and/or with allergies or religious prohibitions.

Showed up on a busy Saturday nights around 8:30 and was greeted outside the front door by the nicest, friendliest and smiliest (I think I just made that word up*) young lady named "Star"...after trying the Rreal in Buckhead a few months ago--and being really impressed by the food and service--I've been wanting to go back, but I live in south Decatur and just never made it back to that location. Suffice to say that I'm very happy to see that they took up this space at Decatur square. A big difference between the Buckhead location and this one is that Decatur seats you at a table rather than the order-at-the-counter-and-wait-for-them-to-call-your-number service. Star told us the wait was going to be about 35 minutes but it actually only ended up taking about 15 so that was another plus. Once seated, the server was right over and took our order and then the dishes came methodically and in short time. I like to try something different each time I go there and I'd like to recommend the Al Pastor Empanada to anyone reading this...it was nothing short of orgasmic! They bring you three different moles (sauces) at the start and they are all super delicious and range from a verde sauce with a little kick to a habenero sauce with a bit of a kick and a punch and then there's the one I'll call "the black death"! It was smokey like chipotle but I'd advise you to note where the closest fire extinguisher is because you might need that for your tongue! Even so, I still loved it. The empanada, however, comes with a little cup of its own green sauce (maybe a little avo-cilantro-mayo puree in there?) and dayuuuum is it good. Apps for us were the chips and salsa--make sure to order the salsa because it is DE-LISH and you have to buy it separately...I also had a shrimp taco and I'm not gonna lie, that was the biggest and bestest shrimp taco I've ever had and it was loaded with five perfectly seasoned and cooked shrimp. Ordered a side of queso too and it was great as well. To sum things up...what started as a pleasant greeting from Star set the tone for what turned out to be a dinner and experience that went from great to fantastic! With that said, the only negative was that the place has a very high ceiling and it's quite loud and echoey inside...but some people like that kinda vibe. As for me, it won't keep me from...

Been wanting to go check this place out. Hubby said let's take a ride so I said let's gooooo! Let me tell you....it did not disappoint!!!! Cute place with dim atmosphere & seating outside if you like! We went on kind of a breezy night so decided to eat in. Decor is nice. Only thing- no booths! We saw only tables, a bar and high top tables. Anywho.... We got the passionfruit margaritas (yummmmmy!) with chips & guac to start, then opted to try a couple of different tacos they had. My hubby and I both tried the al pastor tacos along with the grilled shrimp. Both seasoned well and tacos stuffed with good portions. He also got the asada steak taco while I tried their picanha taco. While he loved the asada steak, the picanha taco I did not care for as much b/c like our waitress mentioned it is a little chewy compared to the asada steak but I had wanted to try anyway. Speaking of our waitress, she was excellent!!! Her name was Thalia and she had great customer service skills!! This we soooo appreciated! Especially now a days! Thx Thalia! :-) She knew the menu and even suggested and explained well some of the drinks and food options and how to mix different things up! Rreal Tacos....We will be back! And next time we're going for their Taco Feast! (Saw another table next to us who ordered it and it looks delicious!). On a side note - they do have a shared parking lot with other stores & you have to pay for parking!! Seems a little high if you ask me (wish they'd change this!) But this is Atlanta! So ya know how that go!!! See you soon...
