I shouldn't have high expectations for a Goodwill but lately this location has managed to not even meet an already low bar.
The store recently moved everything around -- fine, whatever, I HATE when stores do that, but it happens. However. HOWEVER. They managed to arrange everything so it defies all logic and follows no expected store procedures. All of the clothing racks are now arranged backwards, so instead of logically "reading" from left to right, with the size indicator preceding the clothes, the clothing is now arranged right to left. I wandered the store hopelessly for a good five minutes wondering why I was never ending up in the section where logic would dictate I should end up. It's because all the racks are backwards.
Typically a clothing rack would be arranged like we read -- Small (small clothes), Medium (medium clothes), Large (large clothes), etc. NOT HERE. It's now arranged like Large (medium clothes), Medium (small clothes), Small (small clothes, unlabelled and unidentified from the opposite end).
But that's not tricky enough, oh no. You best be on your toes at this Goodwill if you want the opportunity to overpay $5-6 for a past summer camp/school sporting event tshirt they received for free. The clothing sections are not only backwards, they CROSS AISLES. Did you think those racks all grouped together would be women's pants? You absolute buffoon. The rack next to women's pants starts a whole new genre of wildly overpriced, stained, ripped clothing. The (backwards) continuation of women's pants is across the aisle, in what visibly appears to be another section.
If this Goodwill is a book, you're not reading left to right, straight down the page. You better figure out how to read right to left, ACROSS a two page spread. Because it's the shopping equivalent of that.
And that's not to mention the prices and quality of the items. More and more of them are ripped, stained, completely unwearable, yet Goodwill is still out here charging brand-new prices for 10 year old Walmart sweaters and mid-2000s Old Navy jeans. You can go to Old Navy right now, literally this very week, and find the same jeans brand new for $5-6. And they'll likely be organized left to right, the way your brain...
Read moreYou can usually find good clothes. They sort their clothes very well. So I like going here knowing I'll find nice clothes. I avoid this goodwill though as the cashiers can be very rude (1-2 in particular). For example, when I approached the cashier, a short lady with large glasses and shoulder length hair who has worked there quite a while, I told her I had some items I didn't need. (I thought instead of sitting them on some shelf, it would be better to give them to the cashier, bad idea turns out) she didn't acknowledge I was even there. I wasn't sure she even heard me, so I said again, "all this is stuff I didn't want" she sticks her hand in my face and tells me, "WAIT! I'm talking to her! I heard you, you don't want any of this!" She was referring to the other cashier. Is it too much to ask that I not be ignored, or if you have to talk to the other cashier, tell me you need a minute? Instead, I get completely ignored and then berated for trying to talk to the cashier checking out my items! Huh? I'm try to be as nice as possible to these cashier's because I know it's no treat being a cashier (believe me I get it) but being very rude to a customer over the tiniest little things. I got berated by another cashier when I put my card in the card scanner thing too early. My usual response is to de-escalate and keep a friendly conversation going because I genuinely don't know if some of them are dealing with their own struggles and don't know any better. Regardless, I'd love to visit this Goodwill and not be worried I'm about to be berated by the cashier for any little mistake... I'm so sick of the rudeness especially when it's completely unwarranted and I'm going above to be courteous.... I'm sure lots of customers have had the same experience with these cashier's.... I guess I should have stood up for myself, but it was embarrassing to be berated by the cashier and I was trying not to cry after being yelled...

Hi, I was told that the Delaware store does not offer a wheelchair to customers due to the them constantly being stolen. I would love to shop at my hometown Delaware Goodwill with my 91 year old mother.
If I want to include her, I am forced to drive to Westerville, Sunbury, etc. Apparently, THOSE STORES take care of their elderly/disabled customers and offer a wheelchair. It seems the DELAWARE Goodwill is falling short in honoring your organization's Mission Statement to help those less fortunate. Your wheelchair policy seems pretty greedy and shameful. (Seriously, you can't afford a wheelchair when all your merchandise is donated?) Pitiful.
On a positive note, you have a long time employee named Dawn, who is exceptional at her job. It's a shame that she has not been recognized for her excellence. She should be made manager and then some. She has all the great ideas! February 7, 2024
I read the owner's response: Your reply solves nothing and is unsatisfactory. I have left a voice message for Beth, Vice President of Retail at your corporate office. Maybe she'll be...
