Harbor Freight used to be a place where you could find a wide variety of inexpensive tools. While it still does that, in recent years it has been rolling out higher and premium quality tools under it's own sub-brands. These offerings give customers a selection of tools from basic to heavy-duty, with commensurate pricing. They advertise the premium Bauer brand hand tools as being comparable to brands like Knipex, so it's no surprise that some of the featured tools are virtual clones of the Knipex designs. These tools are priced lower than Knipex offerings, but not by much. I own Knipex tools that I have used for more than a decade without issues. I can't comment on how the Bauer tools compare, only because I've only had them a short time. If they fail I'll definitely update, but I'll keep the Knipex on hand, because they haven't. As for the basic and mid priced tool lines, "You get what you pay for." holds true, if your only going to use it once or twice it may be a good option. Harbor Freight like every other business has not escaped inflation. Even so, if you need a basic tool, HF is a good place to look. It's nice that they now offer mid and premium lines up choose from, but you will pay accordingly. They do have a good return policy. They do add options, but ultimately it's your time and money. If you need polishing compounds or other non specialty consumables like cutting wheels they really...
Read moreHF tools vary; and it is on you to decide what quality / price trade off is needed for the job. Hands down the Delaware store is amazing. Wildly clean. I don't know what I expected; and I feel embarrassed that I thought it would be messy. A really nice lady walked by to see if I was finding what I wanted. She let me know if the color of jack stand I wanted was not there, there were more up front (it was crazy on sale so this was great info).
At checkout, the super nice lady double checked that my coupons scanned correctly. She checked each price; I mean super cool. She let me know one item had a restocking fee. I can only guess maybe people return it after using...not sure; but no big deal. Like a good old person I brought the coupons printed out; and I am also in the system.
I want to add to anyone reading (as if you would read this); keep the store awesome by being nice back to our fellow humans. We can all have fun together. Of course if HF treats them poorly; that is another problem. We can do our part.
No shade on the other HF locations; but if you are north outside 270; consider a drive to this location. Get a snack and enjoy a cruise on 23. Most stuff you might get on amazon; you can get here for the same or less and you can touch it before buying it. I am still going to overpay for many of my tools; but HF is on my list going forward and especially the...
Read more2924 got me again! Needed something went in and bought it. Realized the next day there was a 10% coupon I could have used! Games made a mockery of my business. I'll buy other places when I have the opportunity.
Nice clean big store. Prices are way up thanks in part to tarrifs on their primary supplier country of origin. Went specifically to get an ultrasonic cleaner but saw they branded it central machinery which means no 20% off! So I left empty handed, will order one for less $$ online. The prices fluctuate up to 30% depending on sale price, 20 off, inside track, etc. More often than not i buy something then see it for a lower price weeks later. I look up items from online retailers and just about always find a better price (like quality). So.... about done with HFT. Not what they used to be...
